The Felt Z95 is from Felt's Z series of road bikes all of which share the same geometry designed specifically to encourage a slightly more comfortable (read more upright) position on the bike. Many bike companies call this 'sportive' geometry and the thinking is you are more capable of riding further if you haven't got a stiff neck, back or shoulders.
Made from 7005 superlight alloy the frame doesn't disappoint at the scales and means you should be comfortable going faster for longer. The frame features a traditional threaded bottom bracket shell, a band-on front derailleur, external cable routing, a straight 1 1/8" headtube and a replaceable forged aluminium rear derailleur hanger.
The groupset is primarily from Microshift including the integrated brake and gear-shift levers and front mech but the rear mech is upgraded to Shimano's 10 speed Tiagra. Brakes are dual pivot calipers offering powerful braking performance and the chainset is the compact FSA Tempo model which should help when climbing steeper hills. You also get a fork with carbon legs to help dull vibration from the front end of the bike, further increasing comfort.
Wheels supplied are Alex R500 aluminium rims (with machined side-walls for consistent braking performance) laced radially at the front to save weight and 3 cross at the back to increase stiffness with stainless steel spokes and brass nipples to Felt's forged aluminium sealed bearing hubs. Altogether this is a reliable wheelset which with a bit of love and maintenance should cover at least your first couple of thousand kilometres with ease.
The finishing kit is from Felt which means the price of the whole bike is kept agreeably low and you don't give too much away on weight, looks or performance either.
If comfort in your road bike is your number one priority and you want to keep the budget in check the Z95 is your ideal choice.

About the Felt brand
Felt is an American bicycle manufacturer based in Irvine, California. In the early 1990s the company was founded by Jim Felt who designed some of the very first triathlon bikes that propelled many of the worlds greatest athletes to Iron Man victories. High profile sponsorship has remained an intrinsic part of Felt’s strategy highlighted by their association with the Garmin Transitions professional road team and Olympic Triathletes Jan Frodeno and Emma Snowsill. With a strong product focus Felt has gone from strength-to-strength, going from just six bike models in the USA to over 150 bike models, sold in over 30 countries. Felt have created a niche group of highly skilled and dedicated people who work together to create bicycles that consistently exceed their riders’ expectations by providing a sense of individuality, inspiration and pride in ownership. Felt are not governed by their competitors’ measurements of success - the desire to push beyond the limits of technology never allows Felt to rest on their laurels. As their universal mission statement suggests, Felt’s reason for existing is “To design, develop, and deliver the best bicycles in the world. Period.”
