Inside each of the housing ends is a single high intensity LED. When the LED's illuminate they emit a high intensity uni-directional light beam that is directed into each end of the fibre optic core.

The fibre optic then distributes the LED light input and illuminates along its entire length to emit a high intesity omni-directional light output visible from almost any direction at distances over 300 metres (constant or strobe).

Micro Flare has integral fabric clips at either end, these can be used to fasten to jerseys, jackets, bags etc. As well as fabric clips, Micro Flare comes with two silicone ladder slings that slide over the fabric clip and allow Micro Flare to be securely fastened to the bike frame.

About Rear Lights

Almost all bicycle rear lights use LEDs instead of filament bulbs as they are more reliable and use much less battery power, whilst also offering much higher levels of brightness. Used in flashing mode, they are very good at attracting attention from other road users. It's advisable to use at least two rear bike lights, a common configuration is one flashing and one in constant, this is highly advisable just in case one stops or becomes obscured.

In order to cycle on the road it may be a legal requirement in your country to use a light certified to a specific standard or an international equivalent. Most but not all lights sold on Wiggle are certified and labelled with a European CEN standard. Please check your country’s requirements to see if this is sufficient and if necessary contact the manufacturer to see if this light has been additionally certified for your country. Strangely some of the very best lights are not legal on their own and should be used with an additional legal backup light.

Excellent rear light This is a well designed light which is probably visible from a wider range of angles than a standard LED light. When switched on, it looks like something from Tron! It works very well mounted to the back of the helmet using the provided silicone straps. There are two LEDs mounted on each end of the light. Each LED is powered by two CR2032 lithium batteries and are controlled independently. This gives you a few options on how you wish to use the light. I use this light in addition to a Blackburn Flea on the seatpost (blink) and a full sized Fibre Flare on my Camelbak. Since the batteries are not rechargeable and the LED is bright enough, I use only one side in blink mode. I liked it so much, I also ordered a white version to be mounted across the handlebar. 05 February 2012

Great light, great value This light cost much less than other similar lights, so i wasn't sure if it'd be as good as i hoped. but i've been really happy with it so far, however i've only used it a couple weeks, so cannot speak to its durability. it has two light sources which can both either be steady or flash, and they're set at different tempos too so they do catch the eye. i have mine mounted in a ruck-sac as its at driver eye height, and with the 360 (minus what ever part is against you) i feel safer knowing that driver at slightly oblique angles can still see me. 11 January 2012

Not as good as it's big brother Got the large version of these which are excellent: This one is okay, but wouldn't buy again. Not that bright; when both ends are in flashing mode there seems to be inteference and so only work in non-flashing mode properly. 31 December 2011

Fibre Flare Micro Flare Duo Tail Light I've already got two large fibre flare lights and this is an excellent addition; and fits nicely accross the top of my pannier rack. The light gives ample warning to following traffic and unless it's my imagination, cars seem to be giving me a wider berth whilst overtaking. 30 December 2011

No, it's a single light that has a bulb at each end. Each bulb has a on / off switch and it's own battery...

It is a single rear light, containing two LEDs. 'Duo' refers to the fact that each end piece contains an LED, battery and switch (although it is the central core that actually emits the light). You can independently switch on each end, so you can have one on at a time for longer battery life or have both on for a brighter light. Also, each 'end' can be switched on in either solid or flashing modes independently.
