You adjust for comfort interchangeably, sometimes relying on the sit bones or sometimes relying on the genital area to manage the body's weight or when changing hand positions on the tops, hoods and drops.

RE:FLEX: Re:Flex constructed base of all Kurve saddles, are sensory receptors, responding the body's every twist and turn. The Re:Flex construction is made around thermoplastic composite materials which are layered to provide superior support and comfort. The benefits of Re:Flex are the saddle follows very movement of our sitting contact points and so optimizes the interaction you have with your Kurve saddle.

WING FLEX™: The Wing Flex™ shell flexes downward in the critical area where the inner thighs contact the saddle. Whether the rider has big or small thighs, or a wide or narrow pelvis, the saddle adapts perfectly to the rider.

MOBIUS RAIL™: The design of the Kurve saddle employs a new type of aluminium supporting rail, The Mobius Rail™. Mobius is a circular rail construction that has no beginning and no end. Made from cold forged 2014-T6 alloy aluminium it provides the rail and shell with greater flexibility and support. Unlike a traditional saddle rail, the potential pressure points caused by the rail insertion areas are eliminated.

TUNER: Tuner is an interchangeable tension system, which allows the rider to customize their level of Re:Flex. There are 2 tuner tension levels: slack and rigid (or soft and hard). The rider can personalise the saddle tension by simply changing the nose mounted clip-on insert.

About Performance Saddles

Performance saddles are narrower than the models designed for shorter ride comfort. They're intended for riders who have a committed riding style with weight on hands and feet so they're narrower and lighter. High tech padding materials and flexible body designs keep your pressure points comfortable and lightweight chassis components keep the weight down. Most have some kind of ergonomic design to reduce pressure on nerves and allow unrestriced blood flow to your sensitive areas. Womens models have a wider design to suit their naturally wider pelvis. Saddle widths vary across the ranges from narrow (upto 130mm), medium (upto 138mm) to wide (upto 146mm). Narrower saddles are the popular choice for longer distance riders as they do not cause the hips to be placed in an unnatural position. About the Fizik brand

The Fi'zi:k brand was born in 1996 - a high-end bicycle saddle line, designed and handmade in Italy by the world's largest saddle manufacturer. Fi'zi:k is the phonetic spelling of the word "physique" - referring to the form or state of the human body. Fizik have three saddle shapes; there is the dipped platform found on the Gobi and Aliante range. The second is their flat style found on the Arione and Pave range. The third is the new Antares which sits between the previous two shapes. Dipped platform saddles give a supported riding position and 'cup' the pelvic bone, these are ideal for riders who tend to remain in one position on the saddle. Flat saddles allow the rider to move forward and backwards on the saddle and are ideal for distance riders on varying terrain. Within this range there is the Tri/TT specific range which incorporates increased padding in the nose of the saddle for extended periods on the tri-bars and the Ladies Life Vitesse which is specifically shaped for the female form.

So expensive, but so worth it. I know this is saddle was designed for the road but I use one on my full suss MTB. I was looking for a saddle to do some 12 & 24 hour solo events last summer as my trusted Gobi was starting to show its age after 4 years. I very nearly bought a new Gobi but I thought I would give the Kurve a try despite its ridiculous price tag. I'm so glad I did. I have used Fizik saddle for years and have always been impressed by them but the Kurve takes this to another level. Two 12 hour solo's and one 24 hour solo latter and not a spot of bother. Comfy from the moment you put it on the bike, very light as well. Can't recommend it enough, despite the price 03 February 2013

Sitting on air I have tried every type of saddle (including Fizik ) over the years, all accumulating in the shed. My husband bought this for me as a surprise. He fitted it and we went for a ride. Afterwards he asked how was the saddle. I hadn't noticed it at all on a 2 hour ride. I use the soft configuration and it is so comfortable. I am looking forward to trying it on a much longer ride. It is expensive, but if it works it is worth every penny and therefore, value for money. My husband has also tried it, not believing it could really be that good. Excellent seat for long rides I purchased this seat based on research from the Fizik website and from reading a number of very positive reviews. I have rode on this seat for about 700 km with the longest ride being 7 hours in duration. I am very happy with this purchase. I have utilized the SOFT setting and find that there is sufficient flex in the seat to avoid pressure on the sit bones while it also seems to provide shock absorption of bumps on the road. Using the guidelines on the Fizik website I was able to determine that the Chameleon model was appropriate for my flexibility and riding style. It is expensive relative to other seats but worth the extra money. 02 September 2012

Fizik Kurve Chameleon Saddle After trying several types of saddles, centre cut out, gel, narrow, wide, leather, I have found my Holy Grail of saddles. Most saddles I found to be okay for up to 2 hours of riding and then after that my sit bones would feel the pounding from the rough roads and get bruised. Not so with the Kurve. With the Kurve I can ride for over 6 hours without knowing its there. It soaks up the road bumps with ease like fat tyres and a suspension seat post would. It can get a bit bouncy over bumpy bits but you soon adapt to it. I’ve only run it on the soft setting. I imagine the hard setting would take out the bounce but give your sit bones a harder time. I can now cycle with a cadence of 100+ all the time without any chafing going on, great. Don’t know why this saddle is better for this or what caused the problem on other saddles. I went for the Chameleon for its wide width to support my 120mm spaced sit bones and its flat top to ease centre pressure. For me I don’t feel any centre pressure with this saddle, it feels no different to a saddle with the centre cut out like a Specialized Romin. Note the saddle top is basically a hammock for your sit bones and does deflect and reshape around them so you have to be careful when setting up the nose height of the saddle and take this into account. I normally set my saddles level but with this I have it nose down to compensate for the sink down in the middle when you sit on it. Have the nose set to high and the saddles rubberised plastic side edges will dig into your legs and bruise them. Cons, it is expensive. If you register your saddle with Fizik you extend the warranty to 5 years which gives you some piece of mind. The rails are oval. I had to buy a new seat post that clamped the rails from top and bottom instead of the sides. 07 July 2012

Will Fizik Kurve Chameleon fit my current seatpost?

I have a FSA SL-K Carbon seatpost (standard kit on the Bianchi Infinito). I am very keen to upgrade to a Kurve saddle but am concerned that the rails on this saddle may be too large for my current seatpost?

The Fizik Kurve Chameleon saddle should fit your standard FSA SL-K carbon seta post, but you will need to pay close and regular attention to the torque settings of the clamp.
