The FOCUS Cayo is the perfect road bike if you want the benefits of a full blown carbon fibre frame (lighter, stiffer and more comfortable) fitted with components from leading manufacturers - without blowing the budget.
When the Cayo first came to the market a few years back it re-wrote the rulebook for how much bike you could get for this sort of money. It featured a full carbon frame and great componentry and had all the big manufacturers scrabbling to achieve the same level of value.
The 2011 version stays true to these ideals and now includes a host of new features often only found on much pricier bikes. -To give you an idea this exact frame is used on the significantly more expensive Cayo 2.0 model also in the range this year. Engineered in Germany this frame boasts a BB30 oversized bottom bracket (stiffening the frame at the BB area where all your pedaling effort goes in and transfering that effort more efficiently into forward motion), 'SSPS' - Stable Stiffness Per Size (which means different tubes are used for each size so a small is just as compliant as a large and the large is just as stiff as a small), a Tapered Headtube - 1 1/8" diametre at the top and 1.5" at the bottom (giving greatly enhanced steering precision and confidence on descents, corners and sprints) and a great looking UD (unidirectional) carbon finish.
Combine this great frame with Shimano's benchmark 105 groupset and a hill-friendly compact chainset from FSA and it's easy to understand why this bike continues to have such a large following.

Until now all aluminium frame sizes had the same tube dimensions but with SSPS the tube dimensions are exactly tailored to the size of the bike. | Calculating your Frame Size |
| A good bike is like a good suit: it must fit perfectly. There are two ways of measuring the right Focus frame size for you. |

1. Using your Inside Leg Measuremant Measure your inside leg measurement, ideally with a folding rule and in your cycling clothing or underclothes. Stand up straight and measure the height from the ground to your crotch in centimetres. Multiply the measrement as follows: Racing Bike: Inside leg measurement x 0.66 |
2. Using your Height If you're in a hurry, you can also find the right Focus frame size based on your height. See the table below for the relevent measurements (please note these sizes are approximate). If you prefer a sporty riding style, opt for a slightly smaller frame size. If you like touring, the frame can be a little larger. |

Unlike 1100 pound road bikes from many of the big bike firms, this full-carbon beauty from Focus is handcrafted in Germany. Those in the cycle trade will tell you that bikes made in Taiwan are as good as anything on the market!
The Focus certainly looks like it means business it's a proper, serious road bike - and there are even some neat little touches, such as through cable routing on the top tube for the rear brake cable.
