Focus Izalco Extreme Campa 2008 Ex-demo

Brand new for 2008 is the Izalco Extreme carbon frame with the SSPS system: Stable Stiffness Per Size. Put plainly the larger the frame the more material is required to retain strength, stiffness and durability. This means the STW(Strength To Weight) ratio is similar for all frame sizes. This is because a tall and usually more powerful rider needs more stiffness than a shorter and normally more lightweight rider. This system avoids having wasted material and increased weight on a small frame unnecassarily, and too little material on a larger frame.
The "Extreme" from the Izalco range also features Focus new ISPS -Integrated Seat Post System. This system removes the necessity of a seperate seatpost and mounts the saddle directly to an adaptor that sits at the top of the frames seat tube. This feature saves weight, therefore increasing performance and looks simply stunning. The ISPS still offers 25mm of adjustment for different saddle, pedal and shoe combinations and must be cut to the correct height for the rider.
The Geometry is based on Focus team rider's experience and input, it's pure racing attitude.
The Izalco Extreme carbon is a monocoque design, the aim was to keep a very clear, pure and classical look, yet having features like chainstay wing connection and larger chainstay diameter at the Bottom Bracket housing for increased stiffness compared to its 2006 ancestor.
The frame is made of a mix of different fibers - to keep a balance between ultralightweight, stiffness and safety (very high moulus fibers are more critical for crash / impact loadings).
