The Killer Bee has been built using hand picked components to fulfil a gap we felt needed filling, we all felt that there was a gap for a bike at this price that can perform on race days or for the more casual rider. So we sat down and carefully chose each component based on performance, reliability and value.
The frame is considered as the 'heart' of a bike and determines how a bike feels, so we opted for Focus's tried and tested 6061 Hydro-formed aluminium tubeset. This features an extremely oversized down tube to provide exceptional levels of power transfer, large chain stays with ample mud clearance, a head tube to down tube gusset to withstand impacts when riding quickly on the trails and double cages so you can enjoy them for longer. Forks choice is equally important and needs to be carefully chosen to match the demands placed on the frame, so we opted for a pair of RockShox Tora SL Coil forks and added a remote lock out, a feature not often found as standard equipment, these forks offer 100mm of reliable travel and we feel perfectly compliments the Killer Bee's frame.
Wheels... too light and they flex and feel soggy, too heavy and they don't spin up and feel slow...so we decided on a traditional 3 cross laced all rounder, Concept SL hubs matched to a pair of, well know rim manufacturer Alex's 32 hole EN24 rims. These are disc specific and are eye-letted for long term durability. We opted for Continentals Race King 2.2's, these offer the rider a sure footed feel, due to their crown-to-edge tread pattern, whilst also providing a low rolling resistance.
Equipment, some prefer Shimano and some prefer Sram... We chose a mix of Sram's X7 and X9, we thought these offered slightly more performance for your money. Sram's X9 rear mech was heavily inspired by their range topping X.0, built with materials and technologies to meet the demands of any rider. X7 shifters and front mech finish the gearing and also have features that have trickled down from previous seasons higher range. An 11-32T Sram cassette is fitted and spins thanks to a Shimano HG53 chain, which inturn spins on Truvativ's GXP Stylo chainset with a 44/32/22 ring combination. We think you'll agree that a transmission set up like this wouldn't be out of place on a bike with a much higher price tag!
And to stop it all off... Avid's Juicy 3 hydraulic disc brakes, with 180mm front and 160mm rear, are fitted, a review on Bike Radar said "Avid's Juicy 3 is one of the best feeling brakes around. The way it pulls gives consistent feedback and control and more power than most brakes for a given rotor size." Enough said really.
So, there you have it, the Limited Edition Killer Bee, spec'd by us for you to enjoy

| Focus Technology |
| Frame Features: Power Coated |
FOCUS bikes will not always be treated well, but they should look as good after
the hardest tour as they did on their first day. Every frame is
electrostatically charged and spray-coated with a special powdered varnish that
is extremely tough and hard-wearing.
Once cured the resultant finish has
enormous mechanical strength as well as the very highest scratch- and
shock-resistance.

About
Hard Tail Mountain Bikes
If you are looking for a mountain bike that can comfortably negotiate bumpy, cross-country, singletracks yet still be quick and nimble on the road, then a hardtail bike is for you. Hard tail mountain bikes have front suspension, weigh less and are more pedal efficient when the terrain is smooth, than full suss bikes. A good number of single track racers still use hardtails for these reasons. At wiggle, we stock a wide variety of hardtail mountain bike brands including Felt, Focus, GT, Kona, Mongoose, Saracen and more. So if you are searching for superb, quality spec hardtail mountain bikes at great value with a legendary service to match, then you've come to the right place.
About the Focus brand

So if you are riding a Focus bike it will offer exceptional pound for pound performance and offer unbeatable value for money! Each Focus bike is handbuilt in their factory near Hamburg in Germany where they are meticulously tested and fitted with market leading components from brands such as Shimano, Ritchey, FSA, Magura, Hayes, SRAM, RockShox, Fox, Lightweight and Campagnolo.
