About the Footprint brand
It's often said that it's not the destination that counts but the journey. As mountain bikers we instinctively know the truth in that sentiment. Even if you are lucky enough to live right next door to some incredible trails (and many of us do), there's still something very rewarding about heading off to a new place to ride some new terrain.
Mountain Biking Europe is the first true mountain biking guidebook out there. Sure, there are route planners for areas of Cumbria, for XC routes in the highlands and piste maps for the Alps, but this is the first book to present all that information in one concise volume. The guide is for the day tripper as well as much as the holiday cyclist and designed to help you get the best mountain biking experience in Europe.

Magazine reviews for Footprint Mountain Biking Britain
Review from MBUK
This handy little book of knowledge is designed to be a complete guide to the best places to ride in Britain.
With more than 220 venues covered you get in-depth info on how to get there, what to take with you and local information such as accommodation and cycling clubs. There are helpful hints from the pros too.
It quickly becomes obvious that this book was written by a rider for riders. The information is frank and honest, and it's a fantastic resource if you're planning a roadtrip with your mates.
We especially liked the local riders' testimonials. There's no better way to get a feel for a place than talking to someone who rides there week in, week out.
Some of the trails listed are on private land, though, which could potentially land you in hot gravy. The photography is a bit dated too. Despite these shortcomings, this is the sort of book that you'll end up coming back to again and again.
In conclusion...
A great little guide to British riding, for all styles and ability levels
