The Bottom bracket is a key component to every chainset. Smoothness movement is critical, yet must be balanced by enough sealing technology to sustain a reasonable lifetime of use.
FSA MegaExo bottom brackets are the result of years of development, and feature exclusive innovations to guarantee the best balance of efficiency and durability. FSA use the state-of-the-art materials like Silicon Nitride formed ceramic ball bearins, or highly polished chrome steel ball bearings, depending of the level of the bottom bracket.
About Bottom Brackets
Bicycle bottom brackets connect the cranks to the bike and allow the crank arms to rotate. There are various sizes of bottom bracket shell on the market, so compatibility needs to be checked. The three most common frame bottom bracket shell widths are 68mm (English threaded road and mtb), 70mm (Italian threaded road) and 73mm (British threaded mtb). There are also many axle shapes and styles, from JIS or ISO square tapers through to the round splined axles such as ISIS or Octalink and then there is the new external cup systems which have the axle built into the crank arms. Some frames are now using the new BB30 system which uses bearings pushed directly into the frame and removes the needs for cups to be threaded into the frame.

Product Q & A
Ask your questions and share your answers.
If not, is there an alternative bottom bracket that does have ceramic bearings that fits with an fsa energy crankset?
Shimano for example?
Note that GXP is NOT Hollowtech II.
I hope this helps.
Which tool would I need for removal/installation?
Will this fit ?
Conversely the isis crank clamps a shaft that resides in the BB.
The two styles (isis and mega-exo) are completely incompatible with eachother.
You need an Isis BB, but you aren't relegated to FSA, you could use a Shimano, Race-face, Truvita, or any other isis BB (as far as I know Sram and Campy don't offer an isis BB)
I am looking to fit a stages PM and have been advised to fit a FSA mega exo as stages don't do a square taper compatible PM - maybe an obvious question but will I need to replace the whole chain set
