Ceramic bearings are common place on the pro's bikes, now FSA have made this technology available to the mass market. Ceramic bearings have many benefits, longlivety and low resistance being the most important for this inteneded purpose. Unlike aerodynamics, rotational transmission resistance is felt more at lower speeds, for example when climbing when we all need that 'little extra help'.
Ceramic bearings reduce resistance due to their super smooth running properties, in fact they use 13 times less energy than standard Dura-Ace jockey wheels which already use quality bearings, just imagine what they could do when compared to standard jockey wheels!

About Rear Derailleurs
Various derailleur systems were designed and built as far back as the late 1800s. A French bicycle tourist, writer and cycling promoter Paul De Vivie (1853-1930), invented a two speed rear derailleur in 1905 which he used on forays into the Alps, and we wonder if 20 gears are enough..... Since then there have been many advancements, in the number of gears, materials and reductions in weight. Wiggle lists a large selection of front and rear derailleurs catering for double and triple systems with 7, 8, 9, 10 and even 11 speed cassettes.

Magazine reviews for FSA Ceramic Bearing Jockey Wheels
Review from Bikeradar
These glass-fibre reinforced jockey wheels have ceramic bearings that are tougher and lighter than stock steel ones and, with less friction, are faster running.
You won't notice a massive difference in performance, but if you're looking for every little edge then these are a simple upgrade, and they're certainly durable.
In conclusion...

They are as easy/difficult as any other jockeywheels to fit. If you're unsure, a good book Zinn and the Art of Bike Maintenance.
