About GPS Cycle Computers
GPS receivers are now made waterproof, lightweight and small enough to fit on a bike easily. There are 2 basic choices to take on your bike: a GPS unit designed primarily for navigation with a dedicated bike mount, particularly suitable for cycle touring and finding your way in unfamiliar territory, like the Garmin eTrex Vista Cx; or a dedicated bike computer that uses GPS to track your training routes and provide detailed analysis of your workout like the Edge 305, with more limited navigation capabilities. Most units come with only very basic maps installed and you may need to purchase more detailed maps for your area to be loaded onto the unit for navigation.
All electrical goods sold on wiggle that come with a mains power supply are supplied with a UK plug. Please check the product description to see if any other plugs are known to be included in the box, otherwise you may need an adapter for use in your country. Most power adapters will accept 110-240 Volts.

* Option 2: Edge 205, 305, 605, and 705
for the 500, the unit mounts by pushing it onto the mount and twisting the unit to lock it in place
"The bike mount part of the quick release kit is the standard quarter turn mount.
If you already have the other components and just require to mount to another bike then the purchase of just the standard quarter turn mount would be all that is required. "
I have a 705 and need a new mount. I know I need option 2.
But, does this allow mounting on a stem, or is it just for handlebar mounting? Basically, can I set it up with the release clip on the left on the stem? (I think you get a stem and bar mount with the device originally) - maybe this is both?
Not sure on the release tab without checking but the gps would be upside down if it's on the wrong side.
The clip has to be on the left for the Garmin to slid into it.
Hope this helps.
So which one fits the 705?
Option 1 with the rubber rings is for the 500 and 800.
All the older Edge models 205, 305, 605 and 705 use the same type of bracket which appears to be option 2
The newer Edge 200, 500, 510, 800 and 810 use the circular type with rubber O-rings which looks to be option 1
