"Newly Overhauled Garmin GPS" What does NOH mean? NOH means the item has been returned to Garmin by a customer because of a fault or simply because the customer did not want it. Garmin UK then refurbish the unit back to new. All faults are repaired and new casing and parts are added. A NOH GPS from Garmin is just like new except it comes in a white box.
During your ride, Edge 500 measures your speed, distance, time, calories burned, altitude, climb and descent, and records this data for your review. For extra-precise climb and descent data, Edge 500 also incorporates a barometric altimeter to pinpoint changes in elevation.
Other helpful training features include a Courses feature, which helps you compare successive rides over the same route, as well as Auto Pause, Auto Lap and temperature readings. Edge also alerts you if you’re moving but the timer is not running.
About GPS Cycle Computers
GPS receivers are now made waterproof, lightweight and small enough to fit on a bike easily. There are 2 basic choices to take on your bike: a GPS unit designed primarily for navigation with a dedicated bike mount, particularly suitable for cycle touring and finding your way in unfamiliar territory, like the Garmin eTrex Vista Cx; or a dedicated bike computer that uses GPS to track your training routes and provide detailed analysis of your workout like the Edge 305, with more limited navigation capabilities. Most units come with only very basic maps installed and you may need to purchase more detailed maps for your area to be loaded onto the unit for navigation.

Product Q & A
Ask your questions and share your answers.
Presumably you're looking for a computer that will track your rides outdoors, plus some indoor turbotraining ? If this is JUST for indoor turbotraining, you should look for another option, a basic wired or wireless computer with speed/distance etc. You could even upgrade and get cadence info, or push the boat out further and get heart rate and power metering too.
As the Garmin Edge computers use GPS info to track distance and therefore speed and other 'basic' info, the basic unit won't work when you're on your turbo which doesn't move in the real world. The beauty of the system is really in the detailed info when tracked over an outdoor course, particularly up hills and the like.
However it is ANT+ compatible, so you can get other gadgets to link to it for your turbo. The first would be a rear wheel sensor, which counts revolutions of the wheel as the basic computers do, therefore making it usable on the turbo. Again you could further upgrade with HR & power metering...
