Top Features of the Geax Sturdy Rigid MTB Tyre
From aggressive cross-country to freeride, this tyre can be used for it all with its sturdy sidewalls, double compound tread and square knob pattern.
- Well spaced square pattern
- "Sturdy" sidewalls
- Double compound tread
- Can be paired with a rear AKA 2.2 for dry-dry/loose set up
- MTB
- Weight (g): 910
Featuring large, well spaced square knobs, the Sturdy is capable of technical applications and handling rough terrains.
It’s “sturdy” sidewalls and double compound tread work to make the tyre descend like a downhill tyre, but the single ply casing helps prevents it from climbing like one.
Suggested for use in applications from aggressive XC to light freeride, the Sturdy is a versatile, high performance, large blocked platform.
Tip: For a dry-dry/loose condition set-up, pair a front Sturdy 2.25 with a rear AKA 2.2.
About MTB Off-Road Tyres
These tyres are for mountain bikes and intended primarily for off road use, the knobbly patterns provide grip when steering and traction when applying power to the pedals. There is usually a tyre to suit the conditions in which you are riding in so the right choice is important. On dry days a narrow tyre with a smoother central tread can be used, but on a wet day a wider tyre with a deeper knobbly tread pattern is essential or you could be the one in contact with the mud.
About the Geax brand
Geax's mission is to create the best mountain bike tyres you may desire for either XC, Free-Ride or Downhill applications. They know it's not easy, but easy things are not their business. From year to year they have refined their weapons, using only the best raw materials and the most advanced 3D designing softwares. They have kept passing their prototypes to the best racers for testing: who trashed their tyres all over the world, from the Australian desert to the Alps, not forgetting Alaska and the Rocky Mountains. Everybody can now see the results: a family of tyres growing every year with new treads and new technologies, constantly evolving.
