Nimbo Omniform Seatpad
The Nimbo O.F. pad is a new addition to the Giordana OmniForm family. It was created to provide more substantial padding for enthusiast and amateur riders. The Nimbo is a seamless insert with variable thickness from 4 to 13mm at its thickest point. The surface layer is a polyester microfiber fabric that incorporates a subtle square-shaped texture for ventilation and moisture transfer. A 3mm thick expanded memory foam layer sits under the surface to contour and move with the body. Underneath the two upper layers is a 10mm thick section of open cell padding that is heat bonded to the materials above, it provides cushioning and vibration absorption. Perforations allow airflow and ventilation. The shape of this bottommost layer is designed to comfortably contour to the anatomy and provide protection where needed most.
Zaffiro Lycra Fabric
A 200 g/m2 certified power Lycra material used in the seat panels of performance cycling shorts. Zaffiro is an innovative anti-abrasion fabric that reduces friction during the pedal stroke. It is manufactured using a unique multifilament polyamide, power Lycra yarn, and the latest SUPER 40 generation weaving technology. Zaffiro is compact and dense for durability with balanced multi-directional stretch for an un-restrictive fit.
Moxie Lycra Fabric
A nylon/spandex fabric with a 210 g/m2 weight, ideal for cycling shorts. Moxie is treated to promote fast wicking and evaporation of moisture for a cool dry feeling and effective temperature regulation. The fabric is resistant to fading for lasting vibrance and colour. UPF 50+
About Lycra Cycling Shorts
Cycle shorts offer unrestricted movement on the bike with the added benefit of a chamois for comfort. They are the traditional cycling leg wear for any distance rider. Lycra shorts hold their internal pad in the ideal position throughout the ride, offering comfort and cushioning for both on and off road riding. Lycra shorts stretch with your body so there are no seams to rub you up the wrong way or restrict your pedalling motion. They are lightweight in material and since there is only one layer of thin fabric, they breathe well and keep you cool on hot days, or can be used under a pair of winter tights. Higher end models will have more panels and will generally fit better, a good pair of shorts is essential for longer rides and combined with a chamois crème make a wise investment.
