Full face helmets are designed to offer extra protection in higher-risk events such as downhill and freeride. They vary from ultra-lightweight designs that simply offer additional protection from branches to heavy Moto-Cross style helmets designed to protect the whole head in a more serious fall.
Giro has been supplying quality light-weight cycling helmets to millions of riders, cyclists, skiers and snowboarders around the world since 1985. Giro is the Helmet of choice for world famous seven times Tour de France winner Lance Armstrong, as it is the helmet of choice for winners of mountain bike world championships, cyclocross world championships, Triathlon and Iron Man world championships.
Giro also offers a carbon option which 122g lighter and £50 more expensive than the basic composite helmet featured here. Overall, the Remedy feels solid and well vented but the fit isn't quite as good as the Fox Rampage. This is partly due to thick cheek padding, which gives you the chipmunk look and makes you chew your cheeks until the pads compact with use.
If the number of riders using a Remedy is anything to go by, it's a very popular helmet.
