This Giro Saros Road Helmet - 2012 is no longer available although you may find similar or newer versions below:
Bursting with performance features like In-mould construction, Wind Tunnel ventilation and the benchmark RocLoc 5 fit system, the Saros has a sleek, contemporary style and a subtle silhouette.
The In-mould construction process fuses the outer shell with the impact-absorbing EPS liner during the moulding process, and reinforces areas around vents and ribs, creating an exoskeleton. This allows the helmet design to be lighter, more durable, and better ventilated than traditional designs.
Giro helmets are developed utilizing their proprietary Wind Tunnel ventilation system, which combines active vents with internal exhaust channels that thrust fresh, cool air over and around the riders head while forcing heat and stale air out at the same time.
A great helmet is so comfortable that once its on, it virtually disappears. The Super Fit system is based on 'human scale factors' data and over 20 years of crafting helmets for the best bike riders in the world, and the result is a helmet that feels as if it was custom made for you.
Roc Loc 5 Fitting System
After more than two-years of development, Giro introduces Roc Loc 5. This groundbreaking fit system provides an entirely unique user experience with an unmatched level of comfort, stability, adjustability and weight savings. With Roc Loc 5, you can easily dial-in both fit tension and adjust vertical position with a single hand. Just twist the dial for a tighter feel on rough terrain, then back it off a notch and relax across the flats or a warm climb. Even with these remarkable features, Roc Loc 5 is still nearly 40-percent lighter than its popular predecessor, Roc Loc 4.
Performance cycle helmets offer unrivalled levels of protection with the absolute minimum of material. They are ridiculously light and feature a series of huge vents, designed to scoop up air and direct it over your head. On long, hot climbs, the difference is noticeable.
In order to cycle on the road or compete in a race it may be a legal requirement in your country to wear a helmet certified to a specific standard or an international equivalent.
