The GORE-TEX Membrane
The secret of GORE-TEX products lies within the revolutionary bi-component membrane; both completely waterproof and completely breathable at the same time.
The membrane contains over 9 billion microscopic pores which are approximately 20,000 times smaller than a drop of water, but 700 times bigger than a molecule of moisture vapor. So while water in its liquid form cannot penetrate the GORE-TEX® membrane, as moisture vapor it can easily escape.
The patented GORE-TEX® membrane makes garments durably waterproof, windproof and breathable so that you stay dry and comfortable.

I thought this question was from the Altura Mahem Jacket - that does come with a hood. I came to this question through the Altura Mahem Jacket review page!
So my post that this jacket comes with a hood is for the Altura Mahem Jacket and dose not apply here!
To give some suggestion for the initial question... possibly the jacket has provision for a hood, the velcro is already on the jacket for a hood. But the hood is not supplied.
An alternative to the hood is to use a shower hood - used to keep hair dry in the shower. It can also be used to cover the seat to keep that dry too. They are cheap and can be had in a clear plastic that will go over your helmet.

It has a detachable hood. Attaches with 4 button type clips and 2 hinge type clips at the edges of the collar. The hood has a small peak, and an elastic draw string.
