Great winter riding jacket This jacket is great, it feels very well made and is a good fit for me. In use it is warm, but not too hot. I'm looking forward to having many winters use from it! 15 February 2013

OK, but sleeves a little short Perhaps I've been spoiled by Polaris with their thumb loops, but the sleeves are a little bit too short. I choose an XL and the fit is OK (6 foot, 33 in waist, 42 inch chest). With some Gore Alp X cycling pants I'm good down to 0 degrees C. The bad part is the sleeves, you'll have to pull them down every so often if you have long arms like me. The pockets on the back are a little shorter than other cycling tops I have, but OK. I've noticed that the more expensive the Gore jacket, the better the pockets are, which is a little silly, as this wasn't cheap. 14 February 2013

Overall a good piece of kit, but pricey. Wore this out for the first time yesterday, temperature was 0 and with a chilly North Easterly the jacket was warm but not too hot. I was working fairly hard and was impreseed by the way it wicked away moisture leaving me feeling dry and not all sweaty. Great colour in Neon yellow, I am sure cars were giving me a wider berth! Shame it has no zip pocket which should be standard at this price point. Cut is OK but still on the large size. I initially ordered large, going with the recommended size guide, but was far too big. I am 6 ft, 34 waist 40 chest and the medium is ok but not close fit, plenty of space for the tummy bulge! Would recommend but be careful with sizing 13 February 2013

So, once the sleeves have been zipped off, are you left with short sleeves or a vest (no sleeves)? The images showing long sleeves don't appear to be the same design as those with short sleeves. Answers please.

I've done 1000s of miles in one-sleeves zip off and roll up so you can put in a back pocket if temp rises - say 0900 after an 0600 start-then back on at 1700 if you're still on the road-brilliant product.

When the arms are zipped off, you are left with the coloured part of the jacket (ie the windproof warm section) as a vest/gillet, with short sleeves made from black cycling jersey material which extrude from the sleeve holes. (I hope that makes sense!) I have attached a picture (sorry a bit blurred...) which might help! The short sleeves are 'built in' so are there all the time underneath the coloured long sleeves.

Gore website says that this jacket is comfort fit but here it is listed as slim fit. Which one is it?

same size as previous model - I've got both-fit is not super 'race snake' - does not cling like a -say- rapha s/sleeve race jersey - but aero and comfortable all day - large fits 5'10-76kgs me just fine.
