The GORE-TEX Membrane
The secret of GORE-TEX products lies within the revolutionary bi-component membrane; both completely waterproof and completely breathable at the same time.

Good quality but not that warm I bought these due to painfully cold toes in British winter. These have faired no different to cheaper brands in that department. They are also really tight. I thought they should have some sort of overlap between the sizes. One was too small so I sent them back and the next ones up were too tight. As for the waterproofing, I haven't been in massive downpours but in normal rain and puddles they haven't let a drop in. They look good though! If I were to buy again I'd try a different brand I think which is a shame as I like Gore. 11 February 2013

Great fitted overshoe for SPDs I bought these for commuting and winter training rides. For these rides I tend to use SPDs and the slightly wider shoes that go with them. I ordered the size up from my shoe size as I thought they would be too tight on a wider shoe and this was the right thing to do. They now fit snugly, are very easy on and off thanks to big velcro strap at the back but with a fitted fabric piece under the shoe they don't fall off either. They have kept me dry and fairly warm even at -9 degrees. They work well with SPDs but I recently tried them with Shimano road cleats (ie much bigger and wider). With road cleats they fit over the shoe well (with same sizing fit for me as other shoes but the fabric underneath had to be carefully placed not to interfere with cleat engagement. Overall these are the best over shoes I have ever owned but with the proviso that care needs to be taken with larger road cleats. 09 February 2013

Good winter kit These overshoes are an excellent piece of kit. I have big feet (UK13 or 13.5 / EU50) and have suffered with cold tootsies as overshoes in big sizes are hard to come by. Having looked at the other reviews on Wiggle, these came out top and in the right size as well! One critism though, while the velcro at the back is very good, I do struggle a bit with the closure and feel they could do with a heavy duty zip as well as the velcro as I feel it would make them that bit easier to put on and I feel this would better justify the high price. Not tried them in the wet yet but being Goretex lined cannot forsee any problems but they certainly keep my feet toastie warm! 11 January 2013

Over shoe These are my second pair as the velcro came away from one boot on my first pair after a month however Wiggle where credit id due replaced these which Im sure elsewhere may have caused some haggling I opted for Velcro because eventually zips always go twang and i have tried many brands I take an 8 shoe and the 42-44 is a good fit 10 January 2013

Will these overshoes fit over regular running shoes?

I usually were my size 12 Nike crosstrainer running shoes while riding my bike. Will these gore overshoes fit over them? If not, is there a brand of overshoes that will? Right now, whenever it rains out, I tie plastic grocery bags over my shoes. This works fine for awhile but eventually the water finds its way into the bags and my feet become soaked. I've been riding my bike for years and have never seen anyone wearing any kind of overshoes. Everyone here seems to do just what I do - don plastic bags or go bagless.

I can confirm that these are deigned to fit over cycle shoes and will cover most of the bottom of the shoe only leaving a gap for the cleat to fit through. Due to this I would say that these are not suitable for use with normal shoes. I hope this helps.
