Derived from 100% natural citrus oils, Green Oil's Green Clean is every bit as effective as other brands of miracle wash, eating road grime for breakfast and congealed grease for lunch. Kind to seals and other rubber components, it's completely harmless to plants, humans, pets and even cleans up after itself. The only things left behind are shiny steeds and a sweet citrus fragrance.
Armed with a healthy scepticism and a filthy Uinivega, I shook the contents vigorously before spraying liberally over the entire bike. Thoughtfully the trigger-spray has two settings-one for maximum coverage and the other a higher-pressure meaning cleaning power can be targeted at specific areas and/or accumulated dirt.
Leaving the solution to work its magic over the witch's brew of road grime, mud, congealed oils and surface spray for the recommended couple of minutes, I siphoned a bucket of rainwater from the garden butt and sloshed it over the bike using a jumbo car sponge. Credit where it's due, the solution is very potent and cold water rinsing has left most areas sparkling on the first attempt.
However, some frame finishes benefit from a quick lick of funiture polish and buffing to a shine using an old T-shirt. Similarly impatient or time poor riders will be pleased to know using warm tap water and a soft brush seems even more efficient-especially tackling ingrained dirt on embossed bar wrap.
Watching the ingredients consume the residual, murky pools beneath the bike-seemingly before the eyes, captivated my six year old and is likely to win brownie points with significant others too. Deliberately Prolonging exposure times and regular use shows no obvious ill effect upon delicate finishes, elastomer bushes and seals but don't overdo it and be aware that some skin types can react with the ingredients.
In conclusion...
Effective cleaner that's tough on grime but kind to the environment
