Your new foray into mountain biking means a new ride, and you’d probably like to find one that will stick with you as you explore your local trails, beefing up your skills. If this is the case then take a look at the Avalanche range of MTB's.
The Avalanche comes fitted with Avid DB1 hydraulic disc brakes and provides impressive stopping power in wet and dry conditions. This gives you the confidence in knowing that you will stop when you need to. Soaking up the bumps along the trail are a set of Rockshox XC28 forks and provide 100mm of travel so giving you plenty of front end comfort as you hurtle down the tracks/trails. The gearing is taken care of thanks to a mixture of Shimano components and thanks to the triple chainset, and the 9 speed rear cassette, you have 27 gears to play with so finding the right should not be a problem. Climb the toughest of hills, and hurtle down the descents and along the flats - with 27 gears you can.
This classic hardtail from GT also features an aluminium frame with the iconic Triple Triangle. Originally developed to extend the frame life, stiffen the rear triangle and thus create a faster, more responsive ride, the Triple Triangle™ frame has transcended its role as just another tech story and become an iconic symbol of who GT are and what they stand for.
Ridden by Weekend Warriors and enthusiasts alike, trail bikes balance strength and durability with light weight and reliability, so they are equally at home on the singletrack, the sprint for the finish line or a Sunday thrash with your friends. From the all-day ride ability of the Sensor, to the classic aluminium hardtail approach of the Avalanche and Aggressor, there's a trail bike for whatever you ride however you ride it.
Each Avalanche is fully built, tested and tuned by Wiggle's team of qualified bike mechanics to ensure you're bike arrives in perfect condition. To find out which size fits you use the size chart below.

About Hard Tail Mountain Bikes
If you are looking for a mountain bike that can comfortably negotiate bumpy, cross-country, singletracks yet still be quick and nimble on the road, then a hardtail bike is for you. Hard tail mountain bikes have front suspension, weigh less and are more pedal efficient when the terrain is smooth, than full suss bikes. A good number of single track racers still use hardtails for these reasons. At wiggle, we stock a wide variety of hardtail mountain bike brands including Felt, Focus, GT, Kona, Mongoose, Saracen and more. So if you are searching for superb, quality spec hardtail mountain bikes at great value with a legendary service to match, then you've come to the right place.
About the GT brand
GT Bikes, based in Southern California, has been in the business of making great bikes since 1972. They offer a huge range of awesome rigs that are ridden and tested by the top pros in the business like 2004 National Champion Brian Lopes, Extreme Riding legend Hans Rey, and XC Olympian Todd Wells.
Whether it's an epic all day adventure, serious hard core drops and air, old school cross country racing, marathons or just plain old mountain biking, GT have a model that fits your needs with the quality and innovation that you demand.
The size chart below will get you on the right size bike. Experienced riders may also wish to refer to the geometry chart for more detail.
Getting the Right Fit
At Wiggle we measure each of our bikes to build accurate size charts for our customers. Our qualified team of mechanics then individually check each order, against measurements supplied by you, to ensure the size chosen is correct. Another reason you can have complete confidence when buying a bike from Wiggle!
If you are on the change over between sizes both options will fit. Racers and experienced riders would usually select a smaller size as this offers quicker handing. A larger bike offers more stability and is more suited to new and intermediate riders.
