The new Tachyon 3.0 with its Speed Metal frame and compact geometry, is lightweight, comfortable and strong and coupled with the Shimano 8 speed drivetrain components, makes for a versatile bike that is built for urban/city life. Making your travel through town easier is the triple chainset which means you have 24 gears to play with so whatever mood you’re in you can find that perfect gear to get you home without too much hassle or trouble.
This classic city bike from GT features an aluminium frame with the iconic Triple Triangle(excludes XS and S frames). Originally developed to extend the frame life, stiffen the rear triangle and thus create a faster, more responsive ride, the Triple Triangle™ frame has transcended its role as just another tech story and become an iconic symbol of who GT are and what they stand for.
The Tachyon also comes fitted with Tektro RX-1 V-Brakes which provide great stopping power and work well both in wet and dry conditions, and lightweight ‘Speed Metal’ aluminium forks. The wheels are a great combination of Jalco DRX4000 rims built on a pair of Formula hubs. Wider Kenda Kwest 700x32c tyres are wrapped around them and provide excellent grip, great comfort and superb puncture protection resistance against stones, flints and pot-holes etc.
Finally, the finishing kit (bars, stem and seat post) are all GT. These are great value products manufactured by GT and help to keep the price point as low as possible without lowering the quality of this bike.
In summary, whether you’re trying to navigate through the traffic of your daily commute or attempting a trip in the countryside, the Tachyon’s compact Triple Triangle design puts you in a perfect position for comfort and control.
Comfortable grips and a wide, flat bar keep you exactly where you want to be, with lightweight wheels and tyres that keep you rolling fast, while the low-profile tubing absorbs all the bumps you hit along the way.

GT Bikes, based in Southern California, has been in the business of making great bikes since 1972 when Gary Turner launched one of the first performance BMX race bikes. Developing world class bikes in conjunction with the world’s best BMX rider such as Greg Hill, Eddie Fiola, Jamie Bestwick, Clive Gosling and Dave Mirra, GT grew into one of the biggest brands. With a BMX heritage and based in California the MTB scene was the perfect addition in the late 80’s . GT used the same model of developing performance bikes with the best riders, pioneering new suspension technology and the use of carbon fibre in MTB frames. Winning numerous World Championships in downhill and cross country racing with legendary riders such Nicholas Vouilloz, Steve Peat and more recently Atherton Racing, with Dan Gee and Rachel Atherton. Hans “No Way” Ray has been one of the figurehead of GT’s longstanding team rider program, setting the record for longest sponsorship deal of 26 years and counting. It hasn’t always been about dirt, in the mid 90’s GT took there carbon technology and build track bikes for the USA Olympic team, the bike was later banned for being too fast. GT latest crop of Enduroad Grade models play perfect testament to the brands heritage across, dirt, road and track.

Getting the Right Fit
At Wiggle we measure each of our bikes to build accurate size charts for our customers. Our qualified team of mechanics then individually check each order, against measurements supplied by you, to ensure the size chosen is correct. Another reason you can have complete confidence when buying a bike from Wiggle!
If you are on the change over between sizes both options will fit. Racers and experienced riders would usually select a smaller size as this offers quicker handing. A larger bike offers more stability and is more suited to new and intermediate riders.
