With a superior combination of the lightweight aluminium frame and replaceable drops, you can be sure that whether you’re dodging traffic or giving it hell in the dirt, your GT Timberline will be ready to take it. The Timberline features a lightweight alloy Triple Triangle frame(excludes XS and S frames) (6061-T6) and was originally developed to extend the frame life, stiffen the rear triangle and thus create a faster, more responsive ride, the Triple Triangle™ frame has transcended its role as just another tech story and become an iconic symbol of who GT are and what they stand for.
The Timberline comes fitted with a pair of SR Suntour M3020 80mm travel forks and will soak up the lumps, bumps, roots and pot-holes you will come across on your daily travels. A pair of linear pull V-brakes are fitted and provide good progressive braking and works well in wet and dry conditions. This gives you the confidence in knowing that you will stop when you need to.
The gearing is taken care of thanks to a mixture of Shimano branded components. Thanks to the triple chainset (42x34x24), and the 8 speed rear cassette, you have 24 gears to play with so finding the right should not be a problem. Climb the toughest of hills, and hurtle down the descents and along the flats - with 24 gears you can.
The 29" wheel has established itself as the most popular MTB wheel size for good reason. The benefits are simple to understand. A bigger wheel rolls over bumps better than a smaller wheel: this increases control, builds confidence, maintains momentum and makes you faster. The big wheels also provide extra traction in corners and off cambers as more rubber is in touch with the ground.
Frame heights are generally the same as the standover height so the bikes don’t feel bigger to ride. From a handling perspective the geometry of a 29er bike differs from a 26 with the chainset positioned noticeably lower than the centre of the wheel hubs, this provides a sensation of sitting in the bike, not on top of the bike, creating extra traction in faster corners and solid boost of confidence.
Ridden by Race Whippets and Weekend Warriors alike, trail bikes balance strength and durability with light weight and reliability, so they are equally at home on the singletrack, the sprint for the finish line or a Sunday thrash with your friends.

If you are looking for a mountain bike that can comfortably negotiate bumpy, cross-country, singletracks yet still be quick and nimble on the road, then a hardtail bike is for you. Hard tail mountain bikes have front suspension, weigh less and are more pedal efficient when the terrain is smooth, than full suss bikes. A good number of single track racers still use hardtails for these reasons. At wiggle, we stock a wide variety of hardtail mountain bike brands including Felt, Focus, GT, Kona, Mongoose, Saracen and more. So if you are searching for superb, quality spec hardtail mountain bikes at great value with a legendary service to match, then you've come to the right place.
GT Bikes, based in Southern California, has been in the business of making great bikes since 1972 when Gary Turner launched one of the first performance BMX race bikes. Developing world class bikes in conjunction with the world’s best BMX rider such as Greg Hill, Eddie Fiola, Clive Gosling and Dave Mirra, GT grew into one of the biggest brands. With a BMX heritage and based in California the MTB scene was the perfect addition in the late 80’s . GT used the same model of developing performance bikes with the best riders, pioneering new suspension technology and the use of carbon fibre in MTB frames. Winning numerous World Championships in downhill and cross country racing with legendary riders such Nicholas Vouilloz, Steve Peat and more recently Atherton Racing, with Dan Gee and Rachel Atherton. Hans “No Way” Ray has been one of the figurehead of GT’s longstanding team rider program, setting the record for longest sponsorship deal of 26 (?) years and counting. It hasn’t always been about dirt, in the mid 90’s GT took there carbon technology and build track bikes for the USA Olympic team, the bike was later banned for being too fast. GT latest crop of Enduroad Grade models play perfect testament to the brands heritage across, dirt, road and track.

Getting the Right Fit
At Wiggle we measure each of our bikes to build accurate size charts for our customers. Our qualified team of mechanics then individually check each order, against measurements supplied by you, to ensure the size chosen is correct. Another reason you can have complete confidence when buying a bike from Wiggle!
If you are on the change over between sizes both options will fit. Racers and experienced riders would usually select a smaller size as this offers quicker handing. A larger bike offers more stability and is more suited to new and intermediate riders.
