Beautiful Bargain Wanted a bike that would serve as a short range commuter, but also be able to go trail biking at the weekend. This looked different (better) than the on line image, is light and feels fast and effortless to ride. Very comfortable riding position. The front suspension is a bonus (absorbs all the little bumps and low kerbs). It feels like a lot of bike for the money, good gear changes, well set up. I can't imagine anyone buying this would be disappointed. (NB only had this bike 2 weeks - 7 rides, but all good so far) 02 January 2013

Very pleased Not rode a bike for ahem, about twenty years, but fancied having a go again. Received really quick and well packed. Have been out for a couple of trips along cycle paths by local river and all seems good with the bike. Still very much getting used to it and certainly no expert to review but am pleased and look forward to using it more and more. 31 December 2012

A lot of bike for the money! I bought the GT Transeo in May 2012 as a present for my girlfriend. Since then I must admit, she hasn't got anywhere near the amount of use I was expecting, but whenever she has ridden it, it has been the positive ride experience I've grown to know & expect from a GT. For the price Wiggle are charging, I'd fully recommend this bike to anyone looking for a cheap yet solid hybrid for road/commute and (albeit very light) trail use. Components are good for the price and with a change of saddle, she has a very comfortable ride. I have even done a couple of Ks on it myself without issue :-) 17 October 2012

tyre pressure

I wondered if there is a guide for tyre pressures for this bike? In the past I have just judged it by how it feels and what it looks like once I have sat on it but now I have bought a better bike I wondered if there is an optimum pressure or a specific range?

Correct tyre pressure will depend on the rider weight, the tyre and the wheel rim. Please adhere to the recommended tyre pressures illustrated on the sidewall of the Innova Landtracker tyres.

Optimum pressure can depend on your weight and terrain. listed on the side of the tyre will be a maximum pressure, however if this causes an uncomfortable ride you can reduce the pressure till it suits your riding.

GT Transeo 4 2012 - What size bike would you recommend?

I am 5ft 7 with 31" inside leg. I prefer riding larger bikes. After reading the other answers you have recommended a medium to similar sizes.
Do you think that a large size would be too big?

I am 5'8 with a 31 inside leg and a medium is perfect for me. I imagine it would do a 32" inside leg easily.

Answer:

I bought my fiancée a larger framed Transeo against my better judgment and it doesn't help ride position. I'd go smaller on the frame, keep the bars low & jack the saddle up, or you'll be booking in for knee surgery in a few years time. :)
