Berlin bicycle couriers asked Halo to provide more puncture protection to their favourite tyre, so they did! (BPP - Berlin Puncture Protection).

The Berlin spec - High-density anti-puncture version of Courier tyre has a 2.5mm thick Anti-puncture strip instead of the normal 1mm puncture protection system strip.

About City Tyres

Halo Twin Rail Courier Road Tyre with BPP 4.2 5 20 20

Halo Twin Rail This wire bead tyre mounted rather easily. It was advertised as 29 mm and it seemed about the correct being similar to the other 28 mm tyres I have used. It takes up to 120 psi and I have inflated it to that pressure-though I usually run it at about 100. I have ridden it for about 500 Km with no flats. It is mounted on my front wheel. When rolling forward it feels fairly fast. Cornering produces a slight buzz and it feels a little squirmy. This is probably due to the side tread and also the 2 rubber strips that run down the crown of the tyre. I like the tyre, but am not sure if it is a good value, as I can find other similar 28 mm tyres for under 30$. 13 July 2010

Perfect Commuter I got sick to death of punctures on my commute from Putney to the City, and cycling home after a late night at work in the rain only to get a puncture is enough to make you just throw the bike in the thames. I was using Conti Gatorskins but found them so thin and easily penetrable. I pretty much had to throw them out after a few months. I saw the cross sectional picture of this Twin Rail tyre and it looked so solid. Once it arrived it fitted really easily and it's showing next to no signs of wear. Plenty of grip in the wet also. I couldn't care less about extra resistance and my ride being 10seconds slower than on race tyres - i just wanted no punctures! And this is the solution. 09 January 2013

Berliners Rock! This is my second pair, first lot kept getting shredded with glass, however i have only replaced the rear tyre and these Beliners are thicker, haven't noticed any weight difference. I use them like a courier, short xc and i do long distance on them i find them extremely robust, they need to be for fixies but i ride singlespeed. 14 November 2012

2000 Miles down. Still not had a single puncture. I've used these tyres on my commuter/training fixed gear for the past year, covering something around the 2-3000 mile mark. They've been through all conditions. Even the occasional muddy footpath or rough gravel track. Although the rear tyre is wearing through to the yellow puncture strip and will probably need replacing soon. I have NEVER once had to change a tube with these. I've even yanked out shards of glass, but they've never made it through to the tube. 01 October 2012
