I would recomend the small as they are sized for 3 - 5.5, medium are 6 - 8.5. They have a lot of stretch with Lycra Sport content and allow for some crossover between small and medium. Your socks should reflect your actual foot size to give a nice snug fit to aid the wicking properties. Your shoe size may vary upwards of this depending on your preference.
