As the Hiplok can be carried independently, there is no need to take a bag with you just to carry your lock. Also, by transferring the weight of the lock directly to your hips rather than it being on your back and shoulders, you are more stable as a rider and transmit less strain on your body.
Due to it’s unique design, Hiplok is never locked into a loop while it is attached to your body, and it remains fully adjustable and quickly removable at all times when being worn.
Hiplok is also available with a large 3M reflective logo detail. The Hiplok is the only lock on the market to have reflective detailing to help make you more visible at dusk and at night - which is just another reason to wear it loud and proud.
With Hiplok there’s no need to attach or hang a lock to your bike while you’re riding, meaning you don’t spoil the clean lines of your machine, or scratch your frame. And should you need to carry your bike up a flight of stairs or bunny hop a high curb, the fact that you don’t have your lock on your bike makes it lighter and easier to maneuver also.
How to Wear It: Adjust the Hiplok around waist to a secure, comfortable tension
as you would a normal belt or aircraft seat strap.
How to Lock It: Put key into padlock buckle, take other end of belt and loop
the last chain link into the padlock loop, lock bike up.
Please note: the Black/Black/Yellow and Black/Blue/White are not pictured. Also, please see our zoom image for fiting instructions.

Magazine reviews for Hiplok Bicycle Lock (Version 1.50)
Review from Dirt
In conclusion...
This is one of those products that had us thinking "why hasn't someone thought of that before"
and its so simple too. Basically it's a high quality bike lock that you can wear comfortably as a belt, which means you're far more likely to take it with you when you pop down the shops or
pub.
The simple Velcro system means it will fit pretty much any size waist and the cover can easily be removed and chucked in the wash.
It's also available with several different colour prints, and the lock/buckle comes in various
colours too. Even if you think you'll rarely use it's belt features it's still a great quality lock.

Review from MBUK
In conclusion...
Now this is clever â€" at MBUK Towers we get loads of letters every month from people either wondering which lock to buy or reporting their bike as stolen. The sad fact is that your twowheeled
pride and joy isn't safe anywhere these days. The problem with bike locks though is that they're either heavy and cumbersome or not burly enough. Enter the Hiplok….
Designed to fit comfortably around your waist when not being used to lock your bike, it's chunky enough to fend off even the most determined of thieving scum yet doesn't require faffy frame mounts or take up loads of room in your bag. The integrated belt feature means it will stay firmly in place when you're riding, and is simple and highly effective. Infact, we're completely sold on it!

EDITORIAL REVIEW
Urban cyclists often wrap chain locks around their waist for quick storage and easy access while riding. Hiplok improves on that simple bike security solution by shaping their keyed padlock like a belt buckleâ€"it's curved to sit against your stomach. Instead of locking the chain around yourself, thread the Velcro belt section of the lock's Nylon cover through the lock's buckle bar.
It's adjustable to a wide range of waist sizes, and sits surprisingly comfortably on your hips, where it rests below most messenger bags and backpacks. Newly available in the US through REI and other retailers, Hiplok comes in a range of colors. Under the cover, a chain of 8mm steel links is long enough to secure a bike and front wheel. Our urban test bike has been safe after several weeks of testing. â€"Andrew J. Bernstein
Review from Cycling Active
If you're after the flexibility of chain-and-padlock security, Hiplok's ingenious design solves one
key downfall of this type of lock â€" portability.
A Velcro quick-release system allow waist portage without locking and unlocking, and the flat
backed padlock section sits weill against the body.
With reflective versions available as well as bright or subtle colours, there's something for everyone.
Only the hefty pricetag for Silver security level prevents it from scoring a perfect 10.
In conclusion...
…There isn't a better, easier to carry chain lock on the market. For that reason alone we don't hesitate to recommend it.

Review from Cycling Plus
In conclusion...
MATERIAL
This chain is made up for 8mm case-hardened steel links wrapped with touch nylon, combined with an ABS encased 9mm diameter padlock. The lock is shaped to fit around your body and
there are now sharp edges to dig in. The Hiplok weighs in at 1.83kg so it isn’t too heavy to carry, and the already minimal weight is much less noticeable when you’ve belted up.
USABILITY
Essentially, the Hiplok is a standard chain. It has a burly appearance and its easy to use padlock makes wrapping it through your bike a doddle. The tough nylon cover means you're less likely to scratch your frame should you drop the lock on the tubes. Because the Hiplok is designed to be worn, the nylon outer and padlock buckle form a standard belt. With a large expanse of Velcro the lock should fit waist sizes from 24-26in. The large logo is made from a reflective print adding nighttime visibility into the mix.
SECURITY
The Hiplok has a Sold Secure Silver rating, and the chain links will resist attacks from all but decent bolt croppers. There are better, higher security locks around for similar money, though none are as convenient to carry as this. There are one million possible combinations of keys, so it's unlikely that your lock could be opened by another Hiplok owner.
