About Quick Release Skewers

Quick release skewers are rods which are threaded at one end, with a cam assembly on the other. This combines to make a lever operated cam system. The quick release mechanism was invented in 1927 by Tullio Campagnolo, who was an Italian bicycle racer. He was frustrated when he needed to repair a flat tyre during a race, the weather had turned cold, and his hands were numb, so he could not operate the wingnuts which retained the wheel. He had been well-placed prior to the puncture, but lost valuable time, so decided to develop a quick release skewer system which enables simple wheel removal in seconds.

Quality Skewers Hope skewers are the best in the business in my opinion. The only thing close is the standard old school Shimano steel skewers. Hope skewers look great and work great. 23 October 2009

Answer:

Single speed have same spacing on forks for front wheel but narrower (usually by 10mm) on the back. Therefore a skewer would need to be 120mm not 130mm like these, this is because road bikes are designed to have a wider space to fit in all the gears which ss bikes do not have. Hope that helps

Unfortunately not, the genesis flyer uses a 122mm nutted axle so you can't use these skewers.

They are MTB skewers primarily which are designed for 135mm rear hub spacing so will be 5mm longer than a road skewer, other than that they should be fine.
