This is the sort of output a lot of lights with more LEDs, bigger batteries and a greater cost can offer. The CNC machined lamp body mounts to the new reinforced nylon handlebar bracket, which fits both standard and oversize bars with the clever use of removable rubber plugs. The bracket also allows for lateral adjustment of the lamp whilst riding.
The power is provided by 4 AA size batteries. These can be of your choice, and we leave that up to you. As an example though, you can expect to get an average of 3 hours run time on max power from a typical rechargeable battery. The light has a simple on/off/mode switch on the top. This has a new cycle program which turns the light on in 'low' mode and cycles through to the higher settings with each button press. This gives better control of the light in tricky situations when more light is needed quickly.
As well as the universal handlebar clamp, a new reinforced nylon helmet mount is also included, along with a wrist lanyard, as well as ample velcro fastenings. This makes the light truly adaptable. Perfect for bikes, outdoor enthusiasts and people looking for a high quality, high powered light for other nocturnal activities!
Not all rechargeable AA batteries can keep up with the power draw of this light. If the battery is of a low quality then the light may shut down without warning and the batteries may require 20 mins recovery time before continuing on Low Power. Wiggle suggest testing any rechargeable batteries to make sure they can keep going for at least an hour before using on the road!

About Front Lights
Cycle light technology has moved on greatly over the years, traditional 'bulb' lights have been more or less replaced by LED and HID systems. Battery, lens and reflector technology has been improved greatly resulting in brighter and longer run times. Wiggle lists a large selection of bicycle lights suitable for lit streets in the city, or unlit country lanes and even bike lights suitable for off road riding, ranging from around £8 to over £300 they vary greatly in purpose and performance. Tiny LED's with flashing or constant modes are great for being seen in built up areas, whilst rechargeable systems can keep the road or off-road trails lit up for non-stop riding at night.
All electrical goods sold on wiggle that come with a mains power supply are supplied with a UK plug. Please check the product description to see if any other plugs are known to be included in the box, otherwise you may need an adapter for use in your country. Most power adapters will accept 110-240 Volts.
In order to cycle on the road it may be a legal requirement in your country to use a light certified to a specific standard or an international equivalent. Most but not all lights sold on Wiggle are certified and labelled with a European CEN standard. Please check your country’s requirements to see if this is sufficient and if necessary contact the manufacturer to see if this light has been additionally certified for your country. Strangely some of the very best lights are not legal on their own and should be used with an additional legal backup light.

Magazine reviews for Hope Vision 1 LED Front Light
Review from MBR
A neat unit, if a little on the bulky side, which oozes quality of engineering and materials. A single button on the top cycles through the power settings, and when on high it is more than capable of mixing in a little light off road with your commute.
A feature unique in this test is the Vision 1's batteries (not supplied). This allows you to use your own choice of rechargeables, carry a set of spares for extended run time, buy some alkalines from a handy shop if you are caught out and, importantly, never have to replace an expensive lithium ion battery pack when it wears out.
Despite coming with a helmet mount, this is far more suited to the bars with its excellent QR clamp.
In conclusion...
High performance front light for the Commuter
Rating: 8/10
Review from Bikeradar
Four power settings in constant mode and a ?ashing mode that seemingly lasts for weeks makes this a versatile little light unit.
Running on four AA batteries, and with a range of mountings that makes it a doddle to fit almost anywhere, this CNC-machined alloy front light is well sealed and certainly packs a punch.
The beam is easily good enough for riding at speed, although the light tends to dazzle a little when viewed from the front. It offers reasonable side visibility too.
The functions, the quality of the light and the mountings make this a strong contender for the top spot, but a better beam control for dazzle reduction would be most welcome.
In conclusion...
A versatile and long lasting light, but it's a bit of a dazzler
Rating: 4/5
Review from Cycling Plus
Forget ordinary batteries, this needs some seriously powerful rechargeables, ideally 2700mAh. But once they're loaded, this is like having a small searchlight with you on your bike.
A fantastic round beam is easily bright enough for unlit roads. The run time quoted is at full power, but four lower power outputs still provide more than enough light and will increase battery life.
Make sure you carry a spare set of charged batteries and, if you do, this serious piece of kit won't let you down. It's expensive, but it's worth the extra cash.
In conclusion...
Like having a searchlight, it's a fantastically bright, tough and durable commuting option
