When you are racing marathon events and speed, grip, and weight are all at a premium you have to rely on your tyres to support you the entire time. That is why we looked to one of the most prolific endurance racers around Tinker Juarez for the development of this tyre. With Dual Tread compound for long life but maximum grip on the edges and SCT casing for tubeless compatibility.
Dual Tread Compound is the ultimate tread compound. Kenda's L3R PRO compound (60 shore A durometer) in the center and the cornering knobs have STICK-E compound (50 shore A durometer). The benefits are great center tread life, and great cornering control and grip. Found typically in Kenda's Legends Series and race/performance tyres.
SCT is the modification of existing Kenda tyre technologies making them now compatible with fluid based tubeless conversion systems. No longer are riders bound to weakness of a tube that can be punctured nor do they need to worry about a tubeless tyre adding undue rotating weight.
These tyres are for mountain bikes and intended primarily for off road use, the knobbly patterns provide grip when steering and traction when applying power to the pedals. There is usually a tyre to suit the conditions in which you are riding in so the right choice is important. On dry days a narrow tyre with a smoother central tread can be used, but on a wet day a wider tyre with a deeper knobbly tread pattern is essential or you could be the one in contact with the mud.
Kenda is one of the largest bicycle tyre manufactures in the world and with the introduction of John Tomac, often referred to as 'the greatest mountain biker ever lived' by many cycling magazines. John he has lent his expertise and wealth of experience to make Kenda the tyre of choice be it racing or casual riding.
