Knog Party Frank 62cm Cable Lock 4.2 5 25 25

A couple irritations but gets the job done. I use this lock for my city run-around in Edinburgh. The lock is flexible and can be looped a few times, allowing it to be easily coiled round your frame or seat post, or if you're jumping on your bike for only a few minutes, it will sit comfortably around your neck. The lock seems strong, certainly no weaker than others at this price and weight. I would trust it in central Edinburgh for half a day without a second thought. However, in a Metropolis or for an overnight stay I would hesitant to use it as my primary lock. If you can't decide between this product and the longer one offered by Knog I would advise to go for extra length. By way of anecdote, this lock gets through my front wheel, through my frame and round a standard bike-park 'n' or a sign post with centimetres to spare. It DOES NOT get through my frame and round a lamppost. If there is one disadvantage it is that the key is pretty rubbish. Unlike some bike lock keys it only works one way round, like a yale house key. Also, show it any aggression or try to get the lock off from a strange angle and you'll bend it. Not a disaster as you get three keys as standard but still annoying, I bent the first one beyond the limits of safe use. Overall however, I would recommend this product as it does what it claims to do. 03 January 2013

colour not as shown I ordered the red lock, to go with my red and blue bike. The colour is more of an orange than a red, it also marks badly from the bikes oil. Having said that the lock has a lovely feel to it and is easy to use, I would go for a longer one though as this is a bit too short really, good to get 3 keys. Other people have commented on it as it is a little unusual. 03 September 2012

Good day-time lock Looks good and feels good. Easy to clean. However the lock is too thin to feel safe if bike is parked outside overnight. 27 August 2012

Good secondary/ accessories lock. Very compact and easy to coil around your bike or stuff into your pocket whilst in transit. I like to bring as primary lock for short periods of un-attendance (going to shops etc). Saves me carring my kryponite lock which is heavy. Problems i've noted are that the keys are quite thin and can get bent easily (they give you 3 keys so its not too worrisome). The silicon coating marks easy but its no problems to clean with some soap and water. Nice colour choices as you'd expect from Knog. 14 February 2012
