About Time Trial Bikes
Time trial and triathlon racing bikes are becoming highly advanced machines, with more and more research and development being invested in them to bring out the fastest most aerodynamic machine for the pro riders, the best thing about this is that all this is made available for the public as well. Time Trial and Triathlon bikes have come a long way in recent years with new technology and materials being implemented. The technology hasn't stopped at just the frame either, wheels and aero bars have received a lot of attention along with the rest of the components, TT and tri racing bikes are becoming featherweight, aerodynamic machines helping to reduce your times. Carbon fibre, aluminium and titanium are all used to produce the lightest, stiffest and most aerodynamic frames, wheels and components. All these materials have their advantages when used correctly and can be combined to create some truly exotic machines.
About the Kona brand
Kona Bikes are a specialist bicycle company based in North America, they specialize in high-performance full suspension and hardtail mountain bikes, road racing and touring bicycles. The company name comes from the owners' love of Kailua-Kona in Hawaii. Kona started naming its bicycles after Hawaiian places and volcanic names like the Cinder Cone, Explosif, Hei Hei (Hawaiian for ""race""), Hahannah (Hawaiian for ""hot""), Fire Mountain, Hot, Lava Dome and Kilauea (released in 1993 and named after the Hawaiian volcano). Kona was founded in 1988 by Jacob Heilbron, Dan Gerhard and early MTB champion Joe Murray, who has since moved to Voodoo Bikes. Heilbron and Gerhard still own and run the company. Kona bikes, frames, clothes and accessories all available at Wiggle with massive discounts. Their philosophy is a simple one - building great bikes is not rocket science - it's knowing where to look for ideas and having the intelligence to be quiet and just listen. Since their very beginning, Kona have been listening to those riders who are continually pushing the definition of what a bike needs to be in order to perform.
