Lake CX311C Triathlon Cycling Shoes 4.2 5 21 21

Good fit, competetative price but poor appeance Quick and comfortable shoe with great price. One of the ugliest on the market but the price is really good. Hard and stiff carbon sole. Other reviews did comment the fit so I orded one size up instead of of my ordinary size. I should have stayed with my ordinary size, they are regular in fit. 11 October 2012

After reading a few reviews on here I baught one size bigger. I have slim feet (8 B) and got a 9 and they were like clown shoes. with a good half inch at the toe of space. Had to send back for a 8 and they fit like a glove,... well a shoe. The toe and heal on the sole dodn't have any rubber coverings so if you walk at all in them be prepared for them to wear through quickly. Given you run on to the bike with the shoes on the bike it's not a big issue really. Other wise it's a great shoe offering a comftable and fast transition out of T1. It's a decent weight and a very still carbon sole offering a fantastic power transfer. 18 September 2012

Good tri shoes As per previous feedback. I normally take size 44 but took 1 size up (size 45) and glad I did. 44 would have been too small, so suggest that all purchasers consider sizing carefully. Secondly, heel cushioning is bulky and depending on shoe set up in pedal (I have time i-clics) the heel cup can brush against bike frame. Adjusted shoe to greater offset on pedal and solved the problem. I have had two 30km rides (both without socks) and found them comfortable. One thing to note - the top of the shoe is "open" as it has no tongue, so these are definitely summer/"fair weather" shoes. I wont be wearing them in cold or wet weather as there is no ability to keep feet warm / dry other than using shoe covers. They would be a great all round shoe for all-year-round warm weather. Main notched velco strip great for quick transitions and provides for sufficient shoe stability without causing hotspots. Carbon sole so shoe is nice and stiff. All in all I am very happy with my purchase and would recommend these to anyone who is looking for a good mid-range tri shoe without "breaking the bank". 05 July 2012

Much easier to get into Haven't tried these at a triathlon yet, but they'll be a LOT easier to get into than the road shoes after a swim+run up the beach. Look good, feel good, very well priced. I'd buy these again for sure 17 January 2012

Sizing part 2

I have a size 47 Shimano mountain bike shoe and was wondering how the Lake shoes compare size wise to Shimano. I have wide feet so would these accomodate?What is the return/exchange policy on shoes as sizing like clothes is difficult to get correct over the internet.

I can advise that Lake shoes are a size smaller than stated but are ideal for the broader foot. i.e. if you are a size 47 then buy a size 48.

Lake shoes do come up small, they are similar to Shimano in sizing. You should try the 46 if you normally wear a 45 but be mindful that the shoes you wear now may come up small or large also. If you are a 10.5 in a variety of shoe makes you should go up to 46 for best fit.

Lake shoes can come up a little small so you should order a size up for best fit. In most cases this puts Lake shoes into the same fitting as Shimano shoes so you should stick with the 45. If you have the option to try some on locally before ordering it would be recommended as shoe fitting can be very difficult and you really should get the best fit possible before buying.
