As their product line continues to expand their mission remains the same: To enhance the lives of their customers by their products and personal interactions. In 1989 Light & Motion founders, Barrett Heywood and Michael Topolovac, started experimenting with underwater lighting systems. These dive enthusiasts were driven to build a company where designers would create innovative world-class products for a variety of sport specific applications. By 1991, the company was shipping underwater video systems worldwide and had expanded into a 16,500 square foot, renovated sardine cannery overlooking the Monterey Bay. This one facility houses the CNC machine, molding, assembly shops, and design offices. After a decade of designing and creating innovative underwater lighting products, Light & Motion returned to dry land. Not far from the rolling wave breaks of Monterey, Light & Motion found opportunity on the single track of the Laguna Seca hills. In 1999, Light & Motion brought their proven experience and pioneering spirit to the world of cycling. The company’s products were met with an enthusiastic response and immediately revolutionised the bike light industry.
