Magazine reviews for Lizard Skins Peaty Lock On Handlebar Grips
Review from MBR
Peaty grips are made for Lizard Skins by ODI so are interchangeable with all Lock-on hardware including collars and cartridges. The chocolate block pattern is unique to Lizard skins and while the 30.5mm diameter is slightly fatter than a 29mm Ruffian, it fewels compact and direct. It also features a soft rubber compound for increqased traction and the great man's name emblazoned in the centre. Cartridgesa re available in white with red and blue clamps if you're gripped by a patriotic fervour, or a more practical grey if, like us, you don't want to be cleaning your grips after every ride.
If you buy a red and white WTB Rocket V saddle, some Crank Bros Mallet pedals and these new signature grips, yo've got all three of Steve Peat's contact points sorted. Then you'll just need his skill, determination and vision, and who knows what might happen?
Product Q & A
Ask your questions and share your answers.
Just needed to loosen my brake levers so that I could tighten up the lock ons in the position that I wanted. No hassle though.
These grips will work with both bar ends that slide over the bar, or go in the actual handlebar.
So in essence, yes, whatever colour you want on the end, you can put.
This is because you fit the clamps to the grips so you can choose which end each colour goes on. The Peaty is written on top and below the grip. So you can swap them once the clamps are fitted.
A tip to fitting the clamp is to line-up the insert on the clamp to the tabs on the grip and place the clamp on a bench with the grip on top. You need to push very hard down onto the grip towards the bench to get the clamp to clip over the grip tabs.
Also wash your hands before fitting them as the white quickly picks up dirt.
You probably will get red and blue collars with the white though. No idea why they'd sell it as an option if you didn't.
