Good value wheels
Bought these as an upgrade to my standard 32 spoke wheels and they are great. Very rigid and have stayed dead true, excellent value for money!

Steady Away
Good wheels if you are not of the lighter type of elite tour rider.
A couple of thousand miles of use carrying this ex Rugby League Prop forward over 3 months and they have needed a couple of minor tweaks to keep true and spokes in aero position but no issues with a recent weeks LEJoG trip encoutering most types of road and some cycle track more akin for MTB.
As stated by other maybe not for racing but for a general training wheel on a budget they are OK

just keeps rolling...
Had a pair for over two and a half years and they've never needed truing. Not the lightest wheels in the world, so perhaps not the best choice for racing only. But for touring, club riding, audax etc - not to mention dealing with pot holes on the daily commute - these are the bees knees. I've ridden through everything Tyneside roads throw at you from grit, slush and rain to some fat Geordie's discarded kebab meat and never had to do any maintenance on them either. They are as slick, smooth and silent as the day I bought them. Don't know about campag (see other reviewer), but no problems fitting shimano 9-speed cassette.

A great wheel set that lasts
I had a pair of the Aksium Race wheels that came on a Focus Culebro I bought from WIggle back in 2009. These wheels have probably now covered over 5000 miles with my having to do virtually no maintenance at all on them. I think I may have had the spokes tweaked once a couple of years ago. Absolutely fantastic value for money. I commute to work most days, a 16 mile round trip and these wheels have experienced all weathers and road conditions. Paired with some Continental Gatorskins, you don't really have to worry at all. The only problem I have had with these wheels is the beginnings of corrosion on the rear spokes which, to be honest was probably my fault for not cleaning the salt off them often enough during the winter months. After three years of hard use I am now experiencing stiffness in the freehub. I will probably strip this and replace the worn parts. After what these wheels have been through, I can't really complain. I have purchased a new pair of Aksiums and will see how these fare over the next few years. I have high hopes for the new ones and hope they perform as well as these.
For many years I was a fan of Fulcrum wheels but have to say that Mavic have made truly brilliant, low maintenance and great value wheels with the Aksium race. I can't recommend them highly enough.

all the mavic aksiums are road wheels and they are all clinchers so all will fulfill your needs (if you are after clincher road wheels) the main difference between the wheel sets are the colour (black or silver) and the year each model is brought out, there are slight differences in the specs depending on the year each model was introduced. just check the specs and decide which one you prefer the look of.these wheels are a very good wheelset and are very durable but there is a weight penalty with them.
just make sure you buy the correct system ie shimano or campagnolo, if you buy the wrong one it will not fit.

Mavic wheels come with a spacer which needs to go on before the cassette. This will be fitted to the wheels already if they're currently in use. In addition to this, there will be a spacer that goes behind a 10 speed cassette. This is NOT required with the 8 speed cassette.So the short answer is YES.

SRAM and Shimano spacing is the same, where as Campagnolo spacing is different. Therefore your SRAM cassette will fit onto the Shimano hub providing it's a 9 or 10 speed. It will not fit on the Capagnolo version as the hubs are different.Answer:

Yes you can fit a 7 speed cassette to these wheels. You will need a cassette spacer though to shim the cassette over and get a solid fit. I will link it below.
