Top Features of the Maxxis Advantage Kevlar 60a Folding Mountain Bike Tyre
Alison Dunlap designed the ADvantage as a high volume aggressive cross country tyre that corners great on big side-knobs.
- Opposing parallelogram with aggressive side knob
- For use on the Front or rear
- Max pressure 65psi
- MTB
- Weight (g): 660
- Tyre Bead: Folding
- Threads Per Inch: 60
- Use: Cross Country
It climbs and brakes with authority thanks to the opposing parallelogram center tread design. Ramped center knobs keep rolling resistance minimal and the wide lug spacing sheds mud easily.
About MTB Off-Road Tyres
These tyres are for mountain bikes and intended primarily for off road use, the knobbly patterns provide grip when steering and traction when applying power to the pedals. There is usually a tyre to suit the conditions in which you are riding in so the right choice is important. On dry days a narrow tyre with a smoother central tread can be used, but on a wet day a wider tyre with a deeper knobbly tread pattern is essential or you could be the one in contact with the mud.

Magazine reviews for Maxxis Advantage Kevlar 60a Folding Mountain Bike Tyre
Review from Bikeradar
The Advantage fills its specified 2.25in width and more to give lots of buoyant volume and to ward off rim dings.
Alternating rectangular blocks with narrow opposing parallelogram paddles deliver great traction when climbing and braking, while ramped centre blocks stop it from feeling like it's dragging on hardpack.
A distinct rail of large blocks offers masterful cornering prowess and the opposing paddles deliver great traction in mud. The soft 60 duro rubber adheres to rock and roots like landscaper's cement.
In conclusion...
"A great aggressive cross-country tyre that acts bigger than its size"
Rating: 4/5
