LUST offers better puncture resistance, improved air retention, better longevity and lower weight than previous tubeless technologies. The engineers were not content with simply having the best tubeless tyres on the market. Instead, they went back to the drawing board, reinvented the tubeless tyre from the casing to the tread and address issues about tubeless technology. By adding a thin fabric layer to the sidewall, covered in a special air-tight rubber compound, Maxxis created a casing that is lighter, tougher and holds air better.
The High Roller's ramped leading edges roll fast, while the side lugs offer stability at speed and a sharp edge to hold corners. The grooved center knobs provide straight-line control. The High Rollers tread design translates well to all mountain bike disciples including downhill, cross country and freeride.
About MTB Tubeless Tyres
Tubeless tyres, also referred to as UST, have the primary benefit of avoiding needless pinch punctures when running at low pressure. They are specifically designed to enable the rider to run varying amounts of pressure to suit the riding conditions. They will require a Tubeless / UST specific rim, or a conversion kit, to be used without a tube. They can however have a tube fitted if they become damaged during use. Special tyre sealants can also be purchased to improve the seal and are applied inside the tyre when installing onto the rim.

Magazine reviews for Maxxis High Roller 2.35 L.U.S.T. UST Tubeless Tyre
Review from Bikeradar
The High Roller has been a tyre of choice for many riders for some time and is available in many guises from cross-country-friendly 2.1 to downhill brute sized 2.7. The High Roller tubeless options come in 2.1 and 2.35 sizes and use the LUST system – Lightweight Ultimate Sidewall Technology. This keeps the tyre light without losing out on air retention, which can be a common problem on lightweight tubeless tyres.
The centre knob's ramped paddle leading edge allows fast rolling for such an aggressive tyre, and ample braking grip with the square face rear edge. The 2.1s have a slightly rounder profile than the downhill version, and less pronounced shoulders, making for predictable cornering on most surfaces.
Using a 120 threads per inch casing keeps the weight down, but ensures the carcass has a supple feel, making the most of being able to run low pressures with puncture resistance.
Weighing in at just 680g each for the 2.1 size, the High Roller LUST handles like a far heavier, grippier tyre. Even with the fairly hard 62a durometer, grip is exceptional.
In conclusion...
Fantastic all-round tyres in the futuristic LUST format
