Your chainset must fit onto your bottom bracket! There are currently four chainset/bottom bracket interfaces that you're likely to come across. If your bottom bracket is made by Shimano and it has splines, then you need an Octalink chainset. If your b/b is NOT made by Shimano and it has splines, it's almost certainly ISIS. There are a very few non-Shimano chainsets with Shimano Octalink interfaces so, to be sure, count the splines - ISIS has 9, Octalink has (surprise, surprise) 8. No matter which brand of b/b you have, if it has a square interface, it will require a traditional square taper chainset. If you have one of the new Hollowtech II systems, you will need to choose the exact chainset that matches your bottom bracket. Most MTB chainsets are now 9-speed compatible but these will work with an 8-speed system.
About the Miche brand
Miche ... since 1919, a passion that grows. It's been "90 years" since Ferdinando Michelin, almost on a bet, began to produce bicycles and components with facilities including some with his concept design, proceeding with his son Italo - now president of the company - and arriving now-days in the directive hands of his nephew Luigi, with a wealth of knowledge and expertise that makes Miche, one of the leading global manufacturer companies of special components for Cycles (by road, by Track and Mountain Bike), designed and produced entirely in Italy.
100% Made in Italy, is for Miche, a choice motivated by a constant pursuit of absolute quality, from a story that has traveled all the roads of cycling, from the dusty ones, to those supertechnological and futuristic, constantly following a World in changing: the World of Cycling.
To build its products, Miche, employs the most innovative technologies, production processes and the finest materials: carbon, light alloys and composite materials.
The manufacturing of the entire range of Miche products, are performed within the factory of San Vendemmiano (Treviso - Italy) or directly controlled to have 'the hand' of what the brand MICHE will carry in the world and, while supported by robotic machines and numerical control the whole process has a decisive run by technicians who work with high professionalism, but above all with real passion for cycling, that passion that leads to refined insights concerning the evolution of each component.
To validate the "functionality" and the long lasting lifetime "endurance" of the constituents, constant testings are performed within the company (with repeated testing and laboratory analysis), and directly on the road by teams of professionals in national and international competitions, because any product with the Miche label, is a "90 years" absolute quality.

Magazine reviews for Miche Primato Advanced Silver Track Chainset
Review from Cycling Plus
Off-the-peg fixed-wheel bikes usually come with fairly decent but unexciting square-taper chainsets. This Miche Pista (Track) chainset is a step higher up the ladder - and it certainly looks the part.
It's square taper too, so is an easy upgrade. Miche make a matching Primato bottom bracket (£13.99) and it will fit any other 107mm-width ISO square-taper bottom bracket.
The anodised aluminium chainring is nice and chunky, in part because it's 1/8in wide, and our sub-11 stone testers couldn't detect any flex in the forged aluminium cranks.
The five-arm spider has a bolt circle diameter of 144mm and the Pista's off-the-shelf options are: 165mm cranks with a 48-tooth chainring, 170mm/49T, 172.5mm/50T or 175mm/51T.
There's logic in having a bigger chainring with longer cranks, since the longer arm gives more leverage and makes the gear feel about the same. Plus, bigger riders are usually more powerful and are more likely to want a bigger gear.
We picked the 165mm/48T option since it still yielded a big enough gear and the shorter crank arms are more 'spinnable' when you're pedalling propellor-legs fast.
Aftermarket Primato rings sized 46-53T are available for about £36 each. The whole chainset weighs 613g.
Good value and good looking upgrade for your fixie
Product Q & A
Ask your questions and share your answers.
Description lists the crank length and chainring sizes in teeth....
By the looks of it, the item description describs all you need to know...
But in other Q&A you have said that it needs an ISO BB.
So please can you confirm if this is JIS or ISO?
Thanks a lot
It lists it on other sites, but not Wiggle, just wanted to confirm.
Are they the 130 BCD or 144?
And is it possible to supply the 650mm size crank-arms with any size chain-ring or just the 48 tooth?
In response to another question, Wiggle mentioned this should be paired with an ISO sq taper 107mm BB. Is this designed to give a 42mm chainline or am I going to need to find hubs with a 45mm or other chainline.
For more information please contact our customer service team at the following address,
the old BB is 103x68, any ideas if this set up will work? I am not really sure about how you compare chain lines esp when you are replacing the cranks?
