best value rollers I have ridden, Ali rollers best After trying out variousmakes of rollers, I have found that the Minoura advanced are my preferred choice,due to ease of folding, unfolding and storage. I also prefere the Aluminium rollers as opposed to the poly/nylon rollers on the market. When the poly/nylon rollers get wet due to perspiring, it makes it a lot harder to balance the bike, the aluminium. Roller are not affected, due to the coating on the rollers. Excellent Purchase Bought for grandson to train on, was soon able to ride on them.Noise level quite low and they don't take much space up. 13 March 2012

Brilliant Bought them for two reasons: to get mileage in when the weather is bad, and to rebuild fitness following injury. I've only used them a few times, but so far so good. They're my first pair of rollers and after about 5 or 10 minutes of riding on them, I soon got the hang of it. They took minutes to put together and feel nice and solid. The bearing feel and sound very smooth. It seems a bonus at this price having aluminium rollers too. 21 February 2012

Yes. They will fit 700C AND 650c wheels. there are several bolt positions for different forks and head angles and clear instructions on how to optimally set it up

Do the rollers come with the step and wheel guards or do these need to purchased separately

Answer:

The basic rollers are just that - no step up or wheel guards. Best to use the rollers beside a table or other firmly fixed hand hold. Any item that you can stand on - box, milk crate, stool, etc will help you to climb on before you start.

I would choose the Minoura Advance as they are very quiet. You will find that even with teh parabolic that you will need to hang on to a wall for a few sessions until you get your balance.
The Minoura model dont have parabolic drums but you dont need it.
The Minouras are good quality and you will get more out of them.

Both these trainers are fluid and quiet, and as they are both the same price and a simple design, they are hard to compare. The only thing that could maybe sway me is that the action roller has alloy drums rather than plastic drums found on the elite.

Answer:

About 40cms. Plenty wide enough. Most are about the same give or take. The diameter of the drums dictates how much resistance you have. Don't choose too big as you will find it too easy

No it did not but I bought those afterward. It makes getting on and off much easier and is well worth it. The foot guard fits ether side and the front wheel guard were easy to fit

I bought some of the abovementioned rollers and the rollers are balck in colour, why is that?
They look like black plastic. How can we tell if they are alloy and not plastic?
If they are still alloy, what is the coating that makes them black?
