Top Features of the Moser Bikes Speed 105 2012
The Moser Speed 105 is a top aluminium racer ideal as a high-mileage trainer, winter bike or upgrade to an entry level road race bike. The level of equipment provided means the Speed will out-last and out-race many of it's more expensive rivals.

- Brake Type: Caliper

The frame on the Moser Speed is a 7005 T6 aluminium frame which is heat treated to improve strength and rigidity. It features external cable routing throughout, twin bottle cage bosses and a replaceable forged aluminium rear derailleur hanger to prevent the frame from becoming damaged in the event of the rear derailleur taking a knock.
The groupset is almost entirely Shimano's 10 speed 105 group meaning you benefit from the same under-tape cable routing and shifter ergonomics as on the much costlier Ultegra and Dura Ace mechanical groups from the brand. You get 105 shifters, front and rear derailleurs and brake calipers so shifting and braking performance will both be very good. The compact chainset is provided by FSA and is the popular Gossamer model allowing you to get up the hills a bit easier as well as helping to keep the cost down.
For the wheels you get the good quality well regarded Racing 7 wheelset from Fulcrum so you can have confidence they'll be reliable and should offer consistent braking performance too.
Elsewhere there is a selection of finishing kit from FSA, Miche and Selle Italia making for a very nice alloy ride for the money.
Aluminium bikes with 105 aren't ground braking any more in terms of technological advancement but they don't require you to re-mortgage your house or wrap your bike in cotton wool and do offer a great level of reliable every day performance.

About the Moser Bikes brand
Born on June 19 1951, Francesco Moser was one of the dominant riders from the mid 1970’s till the mid 1980’s. He won one Grand Tour title, one World Championship Road Race title, and six victories in cycling’s five monuments, including three consecutive victories in the Paris-Roubaix Classic. Moser began his professional career in 1973. He had an almost effortless pedal stroke that provided great power. Moser was an intimidating figure on the bicycle, but due to his powerful build, Moser wasn’t a gifted climber. Moser’s lasting accomplishment may be that in 1984, he broke Eddy Merckx’s 1972 hour record. However, the bike Moser used didn’t look anything like that which Eddy Merckx used and in 1997 the Union Cyclist International banned all records which were set on bikes with technological advantage over those used in 1972. The record did, however, stand for years and the attempt further opened the door to new technology in cycling. Moser retired from the professional ranks in 1987.
