Top Features of the New Balance M880TR Trail Shoe aw12
The trail running edition of the New Balance 880 adds trail-specific materials and outsole to a road-friendly ride to help you maintain your running regimen during the colder, wetter months of the year.
- Gusseted Tongue fully attached to shoe keeps debris out
- Sticky Rubber outsole is made of durable, tacky rubber for traction on slick surfaces
- Aggressive lugged outsole gives maximum traction for off-road activities
- Blown rubber outsole is extremely flexible, light, and helps provide cushioning
- Higher durometer at the midfoot strategically places firmer rubber where it will enhance stability and traction
- Ndurance® rubber compound for maximum outsole durability
- N-ERGY® in the midsole provides NB's most advanced shock absorption and cushioning
- ACTEVA™ LITE premium lightweight midsole provides optimal resistance to compression set - 24% lighter than standard foam
Its quick-drying mesh and water-resistant synthetic upper helps keep your feet dry and comfortable, and the aggressive outsole is enhanced with sticky rubber for safety on tricky trails, plus Ndurance® rubber compound is targeted at the highest wear areas of the sole for maximum durability.
Designed for runners with a neutral gait, the 880 is built on the ACTEVA® LITE midsole with ABZORB® strobel board to provide a lightweight, supportive, and well-cushioned ride. When added to this already magnificent running shoe, the extra features on the trail edition add up to truly great footwear that helps you take your run to the next level.
About Offroad Running Shoes
Offroad or "trail" shoes offer increased outsole traction and uppers with toe bumpers and reinforced stitching for more durability. The foot often sits slightly lower to the ground than usual for stability and responsiveness. Offroad shoes often have less cushioning than a road shoe because they're designed for softer surfaces. You should choose offroad shoes if you do a lot of off-road running and need shoes with extra traction, more durable uppers and extra protection from the terrain.
About the New Balance brand
New Balance running shoes of all types and great running gear available here at wiggle.
During the 20th century in Boston, Massachusetts William J. Riley, committed himself to helping people with problem feet by making arch supports and prescription footwear to improve shoe fit. In 1934, Mr. Riley went into partnership with his leading salesman, Arthur Hall, who later sold on the business in 1954 to his daughter and son-in-law, Eleanor and Paul Kidd. Arch supports and prescription footwear remained the cornerstone of their business until 1961 when they manufactured The Trackster, the world's first performance running shoe made with a ripple sole and available in multiple widths. The Trackster soon became the shoe of choice for college running coaches and YMCA fitness directors. When Jim Davis bought the company from the Kidds on the day of the Boston Marathon in 1972, he committed himself to uphold the company's founding values of fit, performance, and manufacturing. When Anne Davis began her journey with New Balance in 1978, her focus became building a superior culture for NB associates and those who do business with the company around the globe.
