About Light Sets

In order to cycle on the road it may be a legal requirement in your country to use a light certified to a specific standard or an international equivalent. Most but not all lights sold on Wiggle are certified and labelled with a European CEN standard. Front light good, rear light poor I bought these as a set of flashing lights to complement my main lights, and to use on their own when popping to the pub. I wanted something reasonably bright but also nice and small when they're taken off the bike, so they can fit in a pocket. The front light is good and bright, and I like the way it mounts. The rear light is not very bright at all - quite disappointing. I have changed the batteries and it made no difference. Useful as a secondary light, but I think I'll get something else for use on pub trips. 18 October 2012

Rear Light does not work out of box Front light is ok for being seen but not great for seeing. The rear light did not work out the the box which says "Poor Quality". Beware 05 April 2012

Good value, city use only though I didn't have any battery troubles, and I've had it for a few months. The front is nice and bright, and easily visible in a rear view mirror, so that's nice and safe. The rear light however i found to be a little on the dim side, especially with the flashing mode. I wouldn't use them on pitch black paths, but they do for low lit city streets, and help get you seen in traffic, so that's always a positive. 14 March 2012

A "be seen" light only I bought these lights to suppliment some others that are on my bike. Firstly the front light is a bit odd, it seemingly has two constant light settings and one flashing, I could not tell the difference between the two settings. This light didn't provide enough light for even the slowest riding on a dark road so it's a backup light / flasher only. The rear light is excellent as a backup light, but if you're riding in the dark often you'll want something brighter. The light is easy to use and compact but I wouldn't expect to be seen from more than about 50m away. In summary a great set of lights if you get caught out, but go for something more powerful if they're your only lights. 13 September 2011

The rear uses CR2032 and the front uses CR2450. These are both best bought on-line in bulk to significantly reduce unit costs. They seem to last well.
