About Front Lights

Cycle light technology has moved on greatly over the years, traditional 'bulb' lights have been more or less replaced by LED and HID systems. Battery, lens and reflector technology has been improved greatly resulting in brighter and longer run times. Wiggle lists a large selection of bicycle lights suitable for lit streets in the city, or unlit country lanes and even bike lights suitable for off road riding, ranging from around £8 to over £300 they vary greatly in purpose and performance. Tiny LED's with flashing or constant modes are great for being seen in built up areas, whilst rechargeable systems can keep the road or off-road trails lit up for non-stop riding at night.

All electrical goods sold on wiggle that come with a mains power supply are supplied with a UK plug. Please check the product description to see if any other plugs are known to be included in the box, otherwise you may need an adapter for use in your country. Most power adapters will accept 110-240 Volts.

In order to cycle on the road it may be a legal requirement in your country to use a light certified to a specific standard or an international equivalent. Most but not all lights sold on Wiggle are certified and labelled with a European CEN standard. Please check your country’s requirements to see if this is sufficient and if necessary contact the manufacturer to see if this light has been additionally certified for your country. Strangely some of the very best lights are not legal on their own and should be used with an additional legal backup light.

My 2nd NiteRider MiNewt, they are good bits of kit I already have a MiNewt 200 but wanted a helmet mounted light too for commuting and this was too good an offer to refuse. The run time isn't quite up to the 200's standard but with the USB charging option it isn't an issue and the two are a great combo. o 04 February 2012

Excellent light Really good light and use it every week for off-road in the dark woods, peak district. Allowing the output to be turned down if you are on a ride longer than 2 hours as you can get 5 hours out of the low settings. I wear this on my helmet and it is well balanced with the battery at the rear of the helmet. Very tough and hardwearing. This is the second light from NiteRider having owned the original version last year. 19 January 2012

Hard to pick a fault with this Bear in mind Ive only had it a month, buy The helmet mounted light is just fantastic, I can see at least 20 m in front of me in a huge circumference, I ride 28 miles a day and travel on some roads where there are no lights where it comes into its own. The battery pack and light weight is not an uncomfortable factor , but you do notice it at first. The charging time takes time but you can usb'it while at work and its ready when going home. one happy owner , should have bought one last year. 06 January 2012

Another great Niterider i already have a 150 usb so new this would be exellent quailty. being able to re-charge at work using the usb means the mains charger can stay at home. this light benefits from 3 light levels plus the flash mode which is visible in day light and really picks out the road signs at night. the small size of the light means they fit easily on the bars. the battery is strapped on with a velcro strap and this seems perfectly sucure. the 150 has been on the bike for 18 months and had all weather thrown at it so i hvae no doubt this will give good service for many years to come 05 November 2011

What is the order for modes when switching?

If you switch it off does it come back on in the same mode?

Answer:

It goes straight to high power when turned on no matter what mode it was in when turned off. It cycles through high, mid, low and back to high with each press. Holding the button down for 2 seconds will switch off and for 3 to 4 seconds it will go to flash mode.
