The NiteRider TriNewt features a custom cast aluminium head unit with a durable finish and cooling fins for heat dissipation. The head unit is a stylish envelope for the incredibly bright LEDs inside, and it also incorporates a couple of smaller lights which change colour to indicate battery level, so you are never left in the dark.
The light from the 3 high-powered LEDs in the TriNewt is captured and focused using a specially developed reflector and then transmitted through a borofloat glass lens to minimize light loss and maximise light output. The LED itself can be switched from high to low to flash mode. Low mode will double the burn time to an incredible 7 hours yet still put just about every other light in the shade.
The Niterider TriNewt system comes with a multifit handlebar mount which will accommodate standard and oversize bars and has enough lateral adjustment to compensate for sweep on riser bars. The helmet mount is just as innovative, with a gimbal fitting to ensure the light is always pointing just where you want it to. With a charge time of just 4 hours, this light is the light by which all others are judged.
About Front Lights
Cycle light technology has moved on greatly over the years, traditional 'bulb' lights have been more or less replaced by LED and HID systems. Battery, lens and reflector technology has been improved greatly resulting in brighter and longer run times. Wiggle lists a large selection of bicycle lights suitable for lit streets in the city, or unlit country lanes and even bike lights suitable for off road riding, ranging from around £8 to over £300 they vary greatly in purpose and performance. Tiny LED's with flashing or constant modes are great for being seen in built up areas, whilst rechargeable systems can keep the road or off-road trails lit up for non-stop riding at night.
All electrical goods sold on wiggle that come with a mains power supply are supplied with a UK plug. Please check the product description to see if any other plugs are known to be included in the box, otherwise you may need an adapter for use in your country. Most power adapters will accept 110-240 Volts.
In order to cycle on the road it may be a legal requirement in your country to use a light certified to a specific standard or an international equivalent. Most but not all lights sold on Wiggle are certified and labelled with a European CEN standard. Please check your country’s requirements to see if this is sufficient and if necessary contact the manufacturer to see if this light has been additionally certified for your country. Strangely some of the very best lights are not legal on their own and should be used with an additional legal backup light.

Magazine reviews for NiteRider TriNewt Front LED Light
Review from What MTB
the well-sized and efficient MiNewt from Niterider scored nine points in our recent lights grouptest, so we've been eagerly awaiting the arrival of its new cousin, the three LED TriNewt. Niterider has stayed with the same organic shape, and while it does sit larger on your bars, it's still a beautifully-designed thing. The sophisticaed take on an O-ring that fixes it in place, remains one of our all-time favourites for its low hassle factor.
The beam is clean toned and powerful, delivering more punch forwards than the MiNewt and, as you'd expect, a broader spread. Of couse, all that extra luminescence requires a bigger power source and that's the only downside of this light. The MiNewt has a tiny battery that sits neatly against the stem giving you one discreet unit. This battery (with 3.5-7hrs run-time)is around double the sixe. That said, it is very easy to fix onto your bike and the Velcro strap has held up well and kept everthing firm during all our testing.
So, will it be the much-loved MiNewt, or the new boy about town, the TriNewt? We still love the ickle chap for most of your after-dark adventures, but for more technical night routes or anyone needing that extra power-punch, the trinewt is the one. it aint cheap, bu the quality of the light and the construction quality make it worth saving for.
In conclusion...
Well-designed, good quality light, with a good power/spread balance.

Available to UK residents only.
