An outer shell that gives the back of the foot stability, reducing the weight of the material needed for injection to a minimum for a lighter, more supportive shoe.

About the Northwave brand

Northwave is a high quality manufacturer of snowboard and cycling shoes and clothing. Northwave was founded by Gianni Piva in Montebelluna, Italy and the company is owned by the Piva family. In the late 80's, Northwave started producing snowboard and then its own brands of sports shoes. Northwave Jet Road Shoes - 2012 5 5 1 1

Great value entry level shoes These are my first pair of cycling shoes so I can't compare them with much however I have no complaints. The fit is nice and wide (which I need). Buying them blind I went for the 47 (I'm a UK12) which are maybe a touch big and the 46 might have been a better fit. This isn't a problem, because the long straps can be tightened enough to eliminate any movement whilst remaining comfortable. 18 August 2012
