About Cycling Gilets

About the Northwave brand

Northwave is a high quality manufacturer of snowboard and cycling shoes and clothing. Northwave was founded by Gianni Piva in Montebelluna, Italy and the company is owned by the Piva family. Northwave first started out as a shoe manufacturer in the early 1980's, producing shoes for other companies. In the late 80's, Northwave started producing snowboard and then its own brands of sports shoes. Great fit Pleased with my latest purchase from wiggle. I bought this item to keep the cold off in the morning on my way to work. Now that we are coming into summer in Australia this top is just the ticket. You it was out of stock and in the end had to wait months for it to arrive, please however Wiggle let the know what was happening and it was really worth waiting for. 24 September 2012

Cheap, not nasty. It's a cheap vest that doesn't breath so isn't particularly good if you are looking to keep warm on a cool morning but it is waterproof and very windproof and better than a couple I've had a double the price. Great if like me you layer. Keep it in perspective. If you need a vest and want to spend AUD $60 buy a Campagnolo Vest on special. If you live where you can't ride without top quality warm gear buy Assos. If you only want to spend $30 this is a great vest. It's a Shimano 105 vest at a bargain price; don't buy it and expect Campagnolo Record quality. 07 July 2012

Nice vest This is an attractive water resistant vest that fits nicely in a back pocket, included bag is slightly too large for the vest but i like this as it provides room for a pair of arm armers as well. This vest did the job brilliantly on a 80 mile sportive and is great if you don't think a full armed jacket necessary. 30 June 2012

No protection where you need it most This vest has no water proof panel where you need it most, 'the bottom of your back'. Instead there is some sort of mesh there which is no use at all in the wet. 13 October 2011
