The new Orca Zip Pocket Race Belt is a kitbag essential for multisport enthusiasts. The race belt is made from a durable and comfortable elasticated Jacquard knit fabric and has a handy polyester zip pocket that is ideal to securely store keys, valuables or nutrition. The Race Belt features a centre back clasp buckle, durable toggles to attach race numbers, and nutrition gel holder loops. It is fully adjustable for a comfortable fit, and has a repeating Orca logo print.
Baggy cycling shorts are a great way to stay comfortable on the bike without looking too serious. They generally have an outdoor style outer with a selection of pockets, superior models often have stretch panels for a better fit on the bike and offer more freedom of movement when riding. Hidden inside is usually a simple pad or a whole inner liner short, if not supplied you can use a liner short which are available separately. Pads are fine for short journeys, but for longer expeditions, it's good to have a complete short as this will hold the padding better.
Whilst working as a swim coach, and from his first hand experience in competing in triathlon, Scott Unsworth realised that the wetsuits used at the time were completely inadequate for swimming. In 1992 Scott started up a company called Performance Speedsuits Ltd, based out of his parent's house in Auckland, New Zealand. He began to develop his "Speedsuits", which featured greater flexibility and buoyancy than other existing wetsuits. The business started with Scott selling his Speedsuits from the back of his car at swim meets and triathlon events. The Speedsuits quickly gained a following amongst athletes and the business started to grow. Scott was taking his first steps towards introducing what would become Orca, to the world. A young New Zealand triathlete named Hamish Carter became one of the first athletes to sign up with the company that is now Orca. Over the next 13 years Hamish Carter went on to become one of the best known triathletes in the world - culminating in a gold medal at the 2004 Olympics in Athens.
