A baselayer is vital to a successful layering of clothing throughout the year. A baselayer should sit next to the skin and remove sweat as effectively as possible, passing the moisture onto the next layer of clothing to deal with.

The Earnley(formerly known as the Compton) baselayer is made from Ciba fabric, a mix of 50% polyester, 45% nylon and 5% spandex, which gives a tight fitting and stretchy layer. It's a good shape for riding, and the lack of seams allows the material to sit closer to the body for a better fit. Additionally, the shaping of different materials in key areas is claimed to offer muscle support - though I can't really say that I noticed this in use.

However, the jersey fits extremely well and is indeed tight fitting everywhere, and in use the baselayer removed moisture well. You don't expect many features from a baselayer, and indeed the Earnley keeps it simple. We like.

In conclusion...

This is a top performing baselayer, at a decent price. Enough said.
