About Inner Tubes - MTB

This category contains inner tubes for 26" and smaller wheels. When choosing your tube always make sure that you get the right size for your tyre; make sure the diameter is correct and your tyre width falls within the tubes width range, fitting a tube outside these tolerances could cause the tyre to roll off the rim. Ultra lightweight inner tubes are more prone to punctures, especially pinch flats, than standard tubes but save precious rotational weight in race situations. Butyl tubes hold their air pressure longer than lightweight latex tubes. Pinch flats are especially common in downhill and freeride situations, so choose a dedicated tube for maximum protection. Most tubes are available with either high-pressure Presta valves (with the little lock-nut at the top) or with Schraeder (car-type) valves. Presta valves are slightly more reliable, especially at pressures over 60 psi, but Schraeder valves can be inflated by any car pump.
