Protection from Flint! I got this stuff after getting a puncture on my morning commute down a mud strewn green lane heading to Cambridge. I've not had a puncture since, which is good, but what really speaks to how good this liner is is the fact that I just pulled out 12 bits of sharp flint shards out my back tyre, some of which had penetrated straight through the tyre to reveal a glimpse of this yellow felt through the small hole left. I'm guessing that indicates it works. Bit of a fiddle to fit, and the cost of tyres plus liner approaches the cost of a kevlar banded tyre. 13 July 2010

A great product I have these fitted in three of my bikes - two road bikes and one off roader at present, with no problems so far in 12 and 6 months respectively (touch wood). I only went to these after having problems with the Slime Tyre Liners on two of my road bikes (Marin Muirwood 29'er and Kona Paddy Wagon), where these Tube Liners actually caused repeated punctures at the overlap, which I could not resolve in any other way than to remove them completely after re-fitting them numerous times. The only bug in the ointment is that they really cannot be swapped between tyres when you change tyres to suit the season on the same bike. This also makes them a rather expensive option on anything but new tyres and may not be a cost effective way of preventing punctures on part worn tyres. Despite this criticism I would recommend them to anyone for new tyres if additional light weight puncture protection is required. 12 November 2009

Saves wasted time mending punctures! I have used this product on all my bikes and found it very good! I have not had any punctures on any of my bikes (hybrid and a road bike) and the only flat I had was because of a valve fault. I buy the MTB one for the road bikes too and cut it down the middle so that one pack will do both tyres! 02 November 2012

Useful liners I'm afraid I didn't use this on my ultralight bike tyres but stuck it in the inflatable tyres on my twins' pushchair that kept getting punctures. And it's worked very well. Problem solved. 24 September 2012

Yes it will fit but will be quite awkward to fit. In fact unless you are a person of patience I would get someone else to do it for you or dont buy it at all as this is not a miracle solution to punctures. You will stil get them.

Each packet has enough for one tyre but I use an MTB one cut down the middle for my 700/23 which works fine and means one pack will do both wheels!

One tyre protected per package. When you fit it although it may appear that it needs cutting down it doesnt. Once the tyre is inflated this seems to seat the strip in the tyre correctly and most if not all of the exess lenght is used up. The strip is not a miracle worker, still expect punctures.

Usually for road and off-road bikes there is only enough for one tyre per pack, hence why I have said previously they can be a bit expensive.

Saying that though - no punctures in over 13k miles this year due to penetrating road FOD on the road bearing surface.

NB: Only use this product for new or rarely used tyres because once stuck to the inner casing of the tyre it is nearly impossible to remove and is not that cost effective if the tyre needs to be replaced 3 months down the road due to it being worn out!

I would not recommend using these for your tyres. You would need to apply them to your tyre side by side to get enough width which would leave a seam in the middle of your tyre for objects to pass through.

Do I need to trim the width of these liners to fit my 700x23 tyres?

The 700c liners are 30mm wide do I need to cut these down to fit my 700x23 tyres so the inner tube has space and if so by how much or are they ok to put in as is?

No you don't need to trim them. 23 is the cross section of the tyre not the surface area of the inside of your tyre. There will be plenty of room to lay this inside your tyre. Just lay it down in the centre.

Can i use the tube slime sealent on top as well?
Do i need 700c or mtb version?

One pack should do two tyres. Go for the mtb version. It really works so you won't need slime sealant as well (unless you always push through brambles!)
